Hopefully that area will always stay parkland. It's so close to Queen's Park I wouldn't like to see something massive ever put in there.

I was talking with a staff member working on the re-development, and the parkland planned for this site is indeed a placeholder for future development. They'll reposition the park on the roof of the future building, so that they are in conformity with City guidelines on greenspace. Interesting, in 10-20 years, a good portion of parkland will essentially be private use only.
