I have no memory of the old concourse area for GO Trains, but I was early today for the Lakeshore West to Port Credit so I walked the new concourse area, and I have to say, I'm impressed. It almost feels Western European. I grabbed a Starbucks coffee and a comfy seat and chilled while watching the crowds. What's with the pit in the middle, will that connect to the VIA trains?
I'm taking VIA to Montreal on Saturday so I wonder if that concourse area has improved since the bombed out look I saw last November. But kudos to the project team for the GO Concourse, looks great.
What's the plan for all the empty wicket window spaces on the north side of the main hall?

The place is about 1/4 open right now. The pit in the middle will open to a gigantic retail level stretching under the entire station, and there will be another concourse, even larger than the York Concourse, open on the Bay street side where the old GO concourse was.

What's with the pit in the middle, will that connect to the VIA trains?: It will link under the Great Hall etc to the Bay version.
I wonder if that concourse area has improved. Yes, but the VIA concourse is still not finished. The floors are almost done and when the last bits are finished they will be polished and last week they seemed to be starting to install signage on the walls. The walls and ceilings are still 'in progress'.

The thought about people walking on the glass actually never came up in my mind. Unfortunately with the amount of sheer stupidity we've seen in this city lately, this is bound to happen and I wouldn't be surprised if whoever decides to walk on the glass and ultimately falls through decides to go through and place a lawsuit against the city for some idiotic reason.
