I like it. While the use of the material is controversial it is unique and makes this station stand out for its architecture. In a sea of blandness in Vaughan, this station will stand out and add some colour. I'd much rather have this than more beige/grey concrete.

It's not in Vaughn though. It's half in the city of Toronto. As I said before I think this is an over use of the steel on the outside. They could have gotten away with using less of it and maybe some glass instead of it.

Great shots everyone! I'd say Pioneer Village is my second favourite of the five I've toured, Highway 407 being the first.

the roof bus terminal section is just god awful ugly and overly excessive in terms of size and material usage. the second last shot just makes it look like an overgrown mushroom.
I wonder how many extra tens of millions of dollars was wasted on the that gigantic roof....

normally i wouldnt care to argue too much against aesthetics however this project is late and extremely over budget to warrant such a grand design (407...)

I think you missed his essential point:

It's too bad a fraction of the mega-millions squandered on such details couldn't have been used to properly finish Museum Station.

I noticed that choice reading the Grauniad a few days back, after Googling for examples of tasty concrete creations and grimaced. Aspects of the Museum rebirth are wonderful, the warm colours, for instance, on the tile work and background relief of the station name:

But take a look at the whole pic, and not be ashamed that "they ran out of cash" to finish the job:

The Dupont Station would beat it paws down, but I digress...It also needs money for food, toiletries and make-up. Dupont is one of the lowest passenger counts on the system. It's a thing of beauty, and other than putting in an elevator, left to crumble and beg.

Just love what they did with the ceiling and floor of Museum. Real World Class...

Edit to Add: Just revisited all the other choices in the Guard's pic picks....they're all pretty awful to my eyes. I've seen far better here in Toronto, (and yes, built decades ago) let alone London, NYC, etc.

Terrible choice of pics (NYC's City Hall Station besides) even if the stations themselves have something to offer.
