Toronto TYSSE: Pioneer Village Station | 11.89m | 1s | TTC | aLL Design

I guess points to the Guardian for using a photo of Museum as it actually is, as opposed to the pre-construction rendering that usually gets trotted out when the station makes lists like this. I'm not going to gripe too much about Museum – kids visiting the ROM absolutely love it, and I'm not quite enough of a Grinch (yet) to think that's not a win – I just wish it were better.

As to Pioneer Village, it looks amazing, and I'm looking forward to seeing it in person. I don't think they used too much weathering steel in the bus terminal, though for me what makes it is the amazing contrast between the weathered steel and the high-gloss red, so I would maybe have liked to see more of the latter included in the terminal.

Night time view of the same light cone, pretty much reversed by the time of day!

That thing is tough to shoot properly, if you want to convey the way it works in its space. These two shots from the Open House in October show it in relation to the north exit and the view from below:

I took a bus out of this station recently during the afternoon rush hour. Leaving the terminal, my bus (along with another one queued behind me) waited almost two minutes to get a green light to turn left onto Steeles. Is it just me, or is there a serious lack on transit priority in terms of signal timing?
