Ugh! you too...:(

You certainly don't make it sound like a city.
You would be amassed how often that happens with city staff and the councilor.

It has more history than you think.

Seen this happen in other cities.

I'm sure thats exactly what someone in New York is thinking when they read that from their tablet, standing at 5th and 34th...

"Look honey, this can't possibly be a city! They refer to streets as numbers there!"

Numbered streets are different than streets with highway numbers-especially when they no longer exist. I'm sure no New Yorker calls Broadway US 9 even in its more suburban areas.

Until the white elephant in the city is reduce in size to something along the Eaton Centre line holding 500 stores, there will never be a true downtown as plan by the city for this area. Even the city plan is short sighted.

Its a waste of land use as well not developing a true city centre with higher density than this plan.

Cars, cars keep on building this city.

Cars will dominate no matter what you do ... the same will happen in downtown Markham ... things will only change when connectivity throughout the GTA improves, maybe 50 / 100 years from now. That's not to say some folks will walk, but its going to take a lot longer for attitudes to change.

MCC has a huge problem of attracting office tenants, that'll be its issue going forward.

I think it's pretty clear from looking at these aerial shots (which are impressive) that without some heavy rail connectivity with the GTA, MCC is never going to achieve its supposed objective of becoming a vibrant urban centre. It desperately needs office space and some legitimate attractions besides a shopping mall. How is that Vaughan and Markham are leapfrogging past Mississauga in this regard--getting subway extensions and planning for NHL arenas? There seems to be a lack of vision and civic gumption to move things forward in a dramatic way--case in point, the LRT which will connect Missy with...itself. Smh at the suburban myopia on display here.

Without a doubt, the Eglinton LRT (or even the Bloor line) should have been extended to Square One. They are extending the Spadina line into Vaughan where the population is approximately 300,000 yet they aren't even considering extending a line to Mississauga where there is a population of more than 800,000. Such an extension would remove a lot of traffic from the 401 and the QEW but doesn't seem to matter to the planners.

Why does Mississauga need an LRT line running parallel to a newly built BRT corridor that already handles the very same travel patterns?

Is that vacant lot to the east of One Park Tower owned by Daniels? If so, any idea what's happening with it? You'd think they would have started building something right after Limelight.
