The colour going up on the podium so far is pretty nice. There is way more colour than has been shown in pictures so far.

As for the ubiquitous grey spandrel, I drive by this thing twice a day and don't think I've seen anything resembling the cladding on Parade in terms of colour. There is grey, and there is white... but the grey looks pretty different than the grey on Parade.

Fair enough. As I said, I saw it from Front St.

There is lots of colour on the north side...

29 October 2013: I am very very bored at 7am. You?

(Which is why I decided to walk to City Place as a "destination." And you know what? It's very Vancouverish. Which is actually kinda cool. It's like night and day from King West but in a refreshing, kinda Village at High Park way. Sure, the architecture is dull, but the sites and sounds sure are pretty....:D But you folks need a SDM, a falafel joint, a Dark Horse Coffee hangout and maybe a No Frills to make it work for me.)

Yes, it's colourful, but no, it's not great. It's very spandrel city.

Those lazy mainstream media critics got it wrong: City Place is not the next St James Town but rather the next High Park Village--the perfect place for renters and some condo owners to mingle over dogs, parks, and balconies.

CityPlace looks great in those photos. There's lots of greenery and the streets have a good scale to them. It's mostly towers, but the scale doesn't seem oppressive because of the ubiquitous podiums. Too bad about all the concrete sidewalks and paving at Canoe Landing Park. Concrete paving looks rather generic and cold after its initial clean, white look wears off after a couple of years.

CityPlace definitely looks better at night/duck/dawn than during the day, when it's all lit up.
