Great pictures!

With all the building going on you'd think that Toronto was preparing for some big event.

Well there are the Pan Ams in 2015.

Yes, exactly. There's a deadline and an end goal. Many projects will be completed (or mostly completed) by then as the city cleans up and gets ready: Union Station, Queens Quay and Front Street reconstruction projects, the Union Pearson Express, West Don Lands Athlete's Village, various sports events facilities...the list goes on...and yes, the Delta, too :)

With World Pride next year and Pan Am in 2015, Toronto will have a lot to show off and be proud of.

Can anyone say Olympic bid? We should be more than ready for one with all the new world-class facilities being built...maybe just have a DRL to build :p

Not to mention the 2015 IIHF World Junior Tournament, which draws millions of TV viewers in Canada alone every year. I would put this tournament on the same scale of importance as the Pan Am Games (though not even close on the financial and world scales), considering that most Canadians watch hockey and a fraction of that number watches summer sports.

The IIHF world juniors are relatively minor outside canada, they draw small ratings outside of the country.

As for the Olympics, I think a 2024 bid is extremely likely, and has a good chance of winning it. A lot of the Transit tax projects would be finishing up at that point, so it could very well become the next real "due date" for government construction projects. It would probably fund a Sheppard west subway extension as it would probably be focused around a converted Downsview airport site. It is still 11 years away though, so who knows.

Does anyone know what's going on on the north elevation of Delta near the top of the installed curtainwall? It looks like the middle portion is inset?
