does anyone know what is going on with the planned commercial buildings along Lake Shore? All of these condos are supposed to have them and none of them appear to be getting built.
 
Just speculating here, but since some of Lago's / Riva's amenities are supposed to be in the commercial building I'd expect them to move on it closer to occupancy date. So sometime in 2017 is my guess.

Developers start with quite attractive and distinctive designs in this area, but the execution suffers with every project. They try to build the essence of what was shown in the renderings, but the cutbacks mar every design. We keep getting dull window wall cladding, sterile precast, generic balcony railings, and a safe and boring mix of uses that usually amounts to some token storefronts. Nevertheless, the area isn't aesthetically unattractive if you're on the waterfront. But it doesn't have many great neighbourhood amenities beyond the parkland at this point.
