Jesus. What a boring design considering what was almost built. ?

Put the "blame" on Mayor Rob Ford for going after the $ signs instead of how it looks.

I know. I’m trying to erase him from my memory but this bridge will always be a reminder. They were weeks away from starting construction on the helix bridge when Ford cancelled it, most likely out of spite to stick it to Mike Layton.

The important thing is that this thing got built, and it is frankly, a game-changer for the area from a purely mobility perspective.

The one positive thing to come from the redesign is that this bridge will be better connected with Liberty Village due to the middle part landing in the future Garrison Point Park and Ordnance Street.

Money is also the reason behind the Spadina Subway extension stations having bare concrete walls. It was cheaper than putting in tiles to hide the water seepage. Many infrastructure projects having been going to the lowest bidder or the cheapest materials or lowest cost designs in the past eight years.

welcome to the city of Toronto capital works department.

Any date for completion for this one? it continues to crawl along at what seems like less than a snails pace. How long does it take to do a bit of grading and lay some asphalt down? This has been structurally complete for probably 6 months now.

Don't expect to see the new route in service until late fall or when they feel it's safe to open the trail in front of phase 1 tower. More up on site
