Had a look at the park and looks like it may not be ready for Sept 30. Looks like the Corten material has been removed and a good thing. It was strongly opposed at various meetings for the plans.

Been too long, but I believed it was name after Alexander Aitken who did the surveying of York or someone along history background.
Yes, Alexander Aitken - who is also commemorated by Aitken Place immediately north of the park (and the rail berm.) See: http://www.biographi.ca/en/bio/aitken_alexander_4E.html "Surveyor Alexander Aitken mapped out a ten-block townsite bounded by present-day George, Adelaide, Berkeley, and Front Streets. "

Is the section of the waterfront promenade pictured between Sherbourne Common and Aitken Place Park open or opening soon? It think it's been complete for a while.
Not open yet, I snuck in ;)

For some background, they had to tear up a lot of the brick work in front of Aqualina (first phase), I assume to fix some issues caused by Tridel. I imagine they won't open it up until Aitken Place Park opens in the fall (or most likely Spring 2020).
