Today they were paving the South East corner and painting new lane markings.

Closure of South West corner will cause maximum inconvenience.

Eff. It's gotta be done, but frick that's going to be pain.

Now does that mean they're closing the E-W tunnel under Yonge, south of Eglinton now too? Will the lights midblock between Eglinton and Soudan be the only crossing point?

Happening now.

Traffic lights have been switched off. Traffic controlled by police.

TTC Red Helper has advised that crossing will move over this afternoon. Tunnel on south side will remain open for a while.

I wonder if this will actually speed up traffic through here without turns...I often saw many a queue held up by drivers waiting for pedestrians before they could turn. Regardless, this area will be messy for a while but worth it in the long run.

It has always been no turns since they started construction. Some people are clueless or purposefully ignoring it.

There were no turns allowed. Seems like we are entering a phase where they will allow a right turn west onto Eglinton. No other turns allowed.

That's really too bad. I find street lights in Toronto to be quite dim. Are there any plans to use stronger LEDs in the future that anyone knows about? I was in the Rhinelands of Switzerland last week, and found they light their roads up well, not to mention paint them incredibly clearly. (I do recognize they don't get the harsh winters we do, least not anymore.)

our climate is a huge limiting factor on what Toronto can do with its public realm. The need for snow clearance is huge and limits a lot of landscape design.

This is on Berwick at the south end of the station. Work on the ventilation structure seems to be happening. Unfortunately this already crazy intersection is cut down by one lane.

What a mess. I wouldn't drive thru Y&E now under any circumstances. My standard move is to cut up Manor or Hillsdale to Redpath and back to Yonge or Mt. Pleasant at Erskine. What is the estimated total time that the intersection will be restricted to such a great degree? I know the subway won't be done til 2021, but surely most of the overland work will be done before that.
