I created a time-lapse of CIBC Square from May 2017 to August 2024. Photos are taken monthly from EarthCam.
In this time-lapse you will see phase 1 and phase 2 under construction, along with other buildings built along the way.
Two versions of the time-lapse. Same footage, but one is faster.

Any idea on why they used such a long set of straps for this heavy beam lift?

Is the crane a few tons within its lifting limit?

Say 4 cables at 4lbs/ft ~100’? = 1 ton of cable weight saved for the lift?
Edit. ~200’=2tons.

I can’t think of any other reason. Anyone?
