Toronto Balliol Park | 99m | 30s | Collecdev-Markee | Diamond Schmitt

I didn't know two towers are being built here. Anyway, there's enough cladding by now to get an idea what the building will look like.

I really like the massing on this one (point towers are so very very over-done) and the way it appears raised up on those columns. I don't even mind the use of spandrel on this one, because it's been used somewhat intelligently.

That said, I wish the precast had some more texture to it, whether it's a brick pattern or some other texture.

It's exciting to see infill happening in Toronto at various older apartment tower sites that left plenty of ambiguous "green space".

I don't love this, but I think it's looking better than the renders... Which I did not like at all, but for rental I won't complain.

Sept 5
Mod's Note:: the north tower is 14 story, not 13 and is per legal agreement. That tower being top off.

While the small windows + spandrel combination is silly ... the fritted glass balconies stayed true to the rendering ... nice touch

edit: it is not fritted glass (per below) but the perforated metal still looks good

I think those are perforated metal panels and not fritted glass

Those balconies are a great detail and look fantastic; they'll also add a layer of visual interest that typical transparent balcony glazing can't, and keep the building from looking monotonous (duotonous?).

Is there any information available yet regarding floor plans and the building amenities? I wonder if the rental prices will be comparable to the other buildings in the area
