The reflective glass on the 8th and 9th floors looks striking from street level. The dark mullions next to the tan/cream coloured precast panels adds depth and character. I really like how the exterior of this building is turning out.
I love that building! Strange proportions but a massive presence and not a little amount of character. Methinks goofiness is in the eye of the beholder.
I don't see too much of a difference from any other precast tower. Some even have black mullions. That doesn't mean I don't like how this looks so far. The cladding hasn't reached any of the stepbacks or transitions. These spots are where the tower will succeed or fall short.
From a distance it's sometimes hard to appreciate, but up close I've seen precast that looks almost as good as stone (One St Thomas) and precast that is chipped and crumbling (Pinnacle Centre). This is good quality from what I've seen so far, although I haven't had my nose right in it yet I admit.
