Toronto 100 Yorkville at Bellair | 61.57m | 16s | Invar Building | Hariri Pontarini

The renderman in the suit, second floor and to the right.

A guy on a balcony in a suit during the day is clearly a prelude to an extramarital affair.

LOL!

Meanwhile, at the other end of the balcony is a rendercouple contemplating the merits of Viagra or Cialis!

And if you squint you can barely make out a renderfilipino housekeeper wondering why her empty nester employers still need her services after downscaling from a 8,000 sq. ft. rosedale manse!

Damn, those ads are so telling. A world revealed through condoporn.

The Historical facade has been moved back OFF the street, into.. its official final resting place? and the rest of the building is up to about a level above the street.

80 Yorkville (the taller tower of this complex) is just reaching street level now.

This is another example of 'who cares?' facadism. The historic facade was not noteworthy and will look like a cheap prop when it's fastened into place on the new building.

I have a feeling that you might be entirely correct on that: an out-of-place prop.

You know, somehow I have my doubts that 'people who were born in a small hospital fifty years ago' constituted the demographic the developer was targeting.

I like the facade, its pretty, and further more.. it breaks up the monotony of the modern storefronts.. why NOT is what i'm saying, I'm up for the whole integration of old into new... I think its good. so yes. there we go.

That's exactly what they were going for- the mid 50's wealthy baby boomer crowd. And by the looks of it they succeeded.

The Hazelton, 100 Yorkville, The Regency (the weakest link), The Four Seasons, 18 Yorkville- the neighborhood has exploded with upscale/high end living!

It's tough to argue against this kind of development. Even the lefty city council benefits through higher property tax revenue and associated fees.

Thank goodness the lefty city council finally found somewhere for the rich to live in this town! Hurrah!

I was by yesterday. They moved the Mt Sinai facade into place and the building is maybe 3 or 4 floors at this point. The photo above is the east side of the project.

You can actually see both phases from this view... The crane in the front is "80 Yorkville" (or: The Tower) and the struts somewhere in the middle of the picture are "100 Yorkville" (or: The House)
