The stations make sense.
Yes, Liberty Village is relatively close to Spadina but then the Liberty station could be on the further Western side of the development to serve the King/Queen areas so the distance maybe a little bigger than thought. I think it's obvious ST will use one-level EMU which have subway type de/acceleration..........no different than spacing on the Yonge/Spadina Line between Union and Bloor.
It said they are working on the service levels of fares which essentially mean Tory wants to keep it at TTC fares and Metrolinx wants higher fares so as not to bleed ridership from RER. In this one I think Tory will win the day as the ridership levels will depend greatly on frequency and fares and any increase in fares above the TTC will result in MUCH lower ridership. Tory is right that no system will garner any more riders in the inner city if the fares are even a little higher than the TTC. One only has to look at the failure of GO's experiment with cheaper fares from Danforth and Bloor as proof of that. Even a lower GO fare made no difference.
There are only 3 main questions left...........when will the stations be built, the lines electrified, and how many hours is it going to take for the people of Weston to {justifiably} bitch that the line doesn't go far enough North?

Isn't a station at Spadina a no-brainer? The area around Front and Spadina has got to already be one of the densest in the country, with much more construction on the way, eg The Well. Union a 1km walk away and the 510 streetcar are not going to do it.

ScamTrack is confirmed.
Spadina Front station serves the core. It's under 1.5km and less than 15 mins from King & Bay. It's not a big deal or hardship for everyone to make a short walk on nice urban streets to get where they need to go. The important thing is to get the station built.

You need to start clamoring about being second-class citizens like the denizens from Scarborough. Hell, Humber Bay probably has more of a legitimate reason to.

Not so fun in the winter. A forced walk/TTC trip from Spadina to Bay is going to make more people drive to work.

Very funny - but rather disingenuous comparing this location to Queen with PATH access. And if you need to compare a station 1.5km away to one that is 500m away, please do.

How are they going to squeeze a station into this area? Will they have to remove some of the rail yard?

More stations to come. Ellesemere is the only one that confirmed got the axe.
They just confirmed the building of these stations.
Unilever, Lawerence, and Finch stations are still possibilities.

Metrolinx took the concept of Smarttrack and absorbed it into their GO RER plans, looking at 50 station possibilities all over the GO network.
Bloor and Landsdowne was one of the choices that just got confirmed. It will operate on the Barrie GO-RER network.

Wrong, this is just an announcement of the stations in the west area.
Unilever, Gerrard, Lawrence and Finch stations are still possibilities, just not 100% confirmed yet.
Ellesmere has been nixed however.

Obviously it is wrong - but also important to keep in mind two of the four stations announced had nothing to do with ST whatsoever.

There's too much emphasis on PATH access when it only exists between Yonge and University. West of Uni and east of Yonge there's no PATH saving unfortunate users. But back to the point, it's over 1km from Bay St teamway to St. Lawrence, over 1.5km from Don River to office district at King-Parliament but I was told very clearly ScamTrack serves that.
