So, here's the big CBC scoop.

The umbrellas were supplied by renowned manufacturer Soheil Mosun, which is located right beside the Ford-owned Deco Labels & Tags, on Greensboro Drive in Etobicoke.

Soheil Mosun is owned by Darius Mosun who, with the Fords’ blessing, was appointed to the board of the Toronto Parking Authority. Mosun gets paid $500 to attend each of the city agency's board meetings.

Not really. Ford has used these umbrellas as an example of "gravy trainitis" this week. It's now clear he knew all about the deal or he should have known, I can't decide which is worse.

Yup, tend to agree - other than making RoDoFo look slightly hypocritical (so are you saying your buddy's stuff ain't worth the money?) and nepotistic it isn't terribly revealing.

Personally don't have an issue with the contact going to them - it was really before RoDoFo's time. The putting your buddy thing is par the course for all the ABCs in the city under the brothers.

If anything, it makes it look like the Fords are not afraid to be critical of a company that they have good relations with (although he was never criticizing Mosun for making the umbrellas or for their asking price; he's criticizing WaterfrontTO for buying them for that price). But it does make them look silly to say that they "knew nothing about it".

Interesting that Doug ford senior was pictured with Mosun when he was an MPP, so my guess is that they go way back and the bros could be greasing the wheels with daddy's old pals?

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was the only member of city council to vote against a report looking into a potential homeless shelter for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth in Toronto.

Oh, but nobody's done more for the gays than Rob Ford! Just ask his brother!

Doug Ford complains that councillors are catcalling him. Then they actually start meowing. He asks the speaker to stop them.

Man, Thug can dish it out by the bucketload, but he can't take even a mild joshing, can he? Typical schoolyard bully. Scratch the supposed tough guy exterior, and you'll find pure chickenshit underneath.

Just because Deco and Mosun are neighbours hardly means they are buddies with the Fords. Mosun may well think that the Fords lower the tone of the
neighbourhood. Is there any evidence that either Ford lobbied to get them onto the TPA Board?
