Rob Ford's Toronto

Not sure this has been posted yet. And no, I don't buy it...

Ford Nation Is Stronger Than Ever and Ford Is Unstoppable

The Huffington Post is despicable for many reasons, and I try to avoid giving them my clicks. But I read this piece, and had a few laughs:

A lesser man, a weaker man with no backbone who was overly concerned with public opinion would have resigned.

So having no shame and being a brazen criminal is re-classified as "backbone" ha ha.

Because we all have flaws. We all make mistakes. We all suffer disappointments. We all come under criticism. But the best of us, like Ford, pick ourselves off the ground, and try to stay in the game. And that is 80 per cent of the battle.

Boy, what a spunky comeback story this Ford kid is!

Ford just told the media this morning's beahviour was embarassing. He wasn't talking about himself, either. Says the others were grandstanding, which seems to be his new favourite word. .

The Ford Bros. do latch on to a new favourite word or phrase every so often.

I've challenged myself to dig up a Ford Maxim of the Month, so here goes:

2013

January: "They want to kill him. They want to politically kill him" (Doug)
February: "a great day for democracy" (Rob)
March: "pathological liars" (both)
April: "explain how politics works" (Rob)
May: loooooong silence - something about a video? followed by "maggots" (Rob)
June: "I'm not getting into personnel issues" (Rob on 'Dave from Scarborough')
July: "Rob Ford is the taxpayer's lord" (guest appearance)
August: "a couple drinks" at Taste of the Danforth (both)
September: "SOBs" (Doug)
October: "Subways, subways, subways!" (a shrieking Rob fleeing reporters)
November: "outright war" (Rob) tied with "I don't throw friends under the bus" (Rob)
December: "taking pictures of little kids" (both)

2014

January: "Grandstanding" (both) tied with "unglued" (Doug)

To be continued, unfortunately...

Award yourself one point for each time you facepalmed while reading this list.

As a bonus, I would also like to share this little gem of a quote which I unearthed during my November 2013 research:
Rob Ford said:
“Am I mad, of course I’m mad, because every one of you guys have sinned. What goes around comes around friends. Remember what I am saying.”

I don't think there is any comment I could pass upon that last one; it speaks for itself.

I'd love to hear more apt suggestions for any particular month! My research was not exhaustive and my memory is not perfect, although I find staying away from crack is a big help when trying to keep a clear head.

Last edited:
the Red group is labelled "photo" while the Yellow group is labelled "video". The photo and the video were not made on the same day. There's no evidence that they were made by the same person or even in the same place.

I guess what I'm saying is we don't know that the Red group ever had the video.

maybe it would help if we knew who took that infamous picture? maybe that's where the overlap is? it's weird to show a picture that you are not in as proof you have something incriminating on someone, right?

so are all of the red, yellow, and green people all part of the same gang, and therefore friends? and only the 2 guys charged in anthony smith's murder are from a rival gang?

The Fords remind me of dogs, they behave badly when they want attention.

Actually, the Fords want the councillors to be like dogs, and follow their every whisper and command.

And be with with him as he makes his rounds.

another favourite in november was: "actions speak louder than words"

and they always use: folks, disgusting, and ridiculous
