640AM host Bill Carroll clarified in his interview with Doug Ford that it was not a drug or alcohol issue.

“No, no, Rob’s fine that way. Just on his health,” he replied, adding later: “It’s a hurdle, but we’ll get over this hurdle. He was telling me all the terrible things John Tory’s done over the last year and all the great things he did in his first year, so he still has it in his belly.”

He said Ford had not been at work for a few days but was continuing to return calls and set up appointments.

The elder Ford says he has now been authorized by the city to help with any constituent calls but says Rob is still ”feisty” and was telling him “all the terrible things John Tory has done in first year and all the great things he did.”

I just wanted to add my congratulations to Eva for her excellent detective work over the past couple of pages. But, y'know, if all this information is just there for the taking, why haven't any reporters looked into it? Surely, this has the makings of a juicy newspaper story, wouldn't y'all say?

Dean Del Mastro sentenced to month in jail, 4 months house arrest for election overspending

"This type of cheating and lying will result in serious sanctions. … Custody is required to reflect the need for denunciation and deterrence," Cameron said.

The former MP for Peterborough will have to pay $10,000 to the Peterborough Electoral District Association and serve a further 18 months on probation. He is also barred from running for office for five years.

Bennett’s family is involved in the realty business as well as the transportation business. If campaign contributions are anything to go by, he also has connections in the world of real estate developers. Century 21 and Cleary Homes kicked cash into Bennett’s initial campaign for mayor in 2010, as did Melody Homes principal Saverio Montemarano through his company Liberty Greens.

Montemarano was revealed by the Examiner in 2008 to be behind the unpopular plan to put a hotel and condominium complex on Little Lake which Del Mastro actively promoted while refusing to tell the public who had proposed it.

Montemarano and his associates in the Cortellucci family in York Region also control Bromont Homes and a corporation called Mocor, which contributed money to the election campaigns of Len Vass and Keith Riel in 2010.

Mayor Daryl Bennett found guilty of misconduct on police services board

In all, the mayor was up against 11 allegations of misconduct, including making disparaging comments about the board, the Police Services Act and about Chief Rodd.

He's been found guilty of them all.

PARRY SOUND – Three Toronto area hunters have been fined a total of $13,000 for illegal moose hunting.

Mario Cortellucci, 55 of Woodbridge, was fined $7,000 for transporting wildlife illegally. Pietrangelo Serino, 53 of North York, was fined $3,000 for improperly putting a seal on a moose and Rocco Tesa, 32, also of Woodbridge, was fined $3,000 for failing to carry his moose seal while hunting.

Court heard that Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officers were on routine patrol near Kearney on October 24, 2004, when they began investigating the shooting of a bull moose that was being ferried away in a trailer pulled by a car.

Justice of the Peace Mike Kitlar heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on November 2, 2005.

Rose Garden near Bandshell Park eyed as new home for The Greek Gods statues
Statues presently located at site of Muzik nightclub at Exhibition Place

Although the group has chosen the homes for the statues, none of them will be moved until the terms of the lease with Muzik nightclub are addressed, which won’t be until early next year.

“It was a mistake to include it (the sculptures) in the lease in the first place,” he said to the board last week.

Now that the group has recommended a location for the statutes, Sutton and her supporters will have to play the waiting game until an official decision is made regarding the renewal of Muzik’s lease.

However, she did tell The Villager that she and the nightclub owner have established a working relationship and plan to meet again in November along with Councillor Mark Grimes and Layton to discuss the art’s removal.

Exhibition Place is currently conducting regular assessments of the sculptures and undertaking repairs as recommended by the stone conservator.

What can I say? Also good at mapping the minds of serial killers... and Doug Ford.

After all this time, I shouldn't be surprised. But Doug's quotes in the Star story about Rob's health are too much. "A bump in the road." "It's still in his belly." Dark humour aside, I can't help but wonder if he's dropping hints. His quotes remind of the scene in Filion's book where, with Rob in rehab, Doug starts running around city hall making cryptic comments — well, maybe cryptic in his mind — about changes that are coming to the mayoral race. As for Rob, I guess we'll find out what's going on if/when he decides to comment. Could be anything from the cancer itself to knock-on issues from his surgery.

Doug's interview today is also interesting in light of Filion's comments about the rivalry between the brothers. Seems Rob can't do anything without Doug trying to push his way into the spotlight.

Don Peat at the Sun is reporting Rob was hospitalized recently for an infection. Maybe that's issue Doug is talking about. If so, it makes his comments today look pretty well timed to the release of Towhey's book.
