Given the sheer, committed, paleo-lunacy of Eye-Ola, it seems an effective strategy might be to just let 'The Nation' speak candidly of their beliefs. Then, calmly, feigning interest, ask a few questions about their mania. Let them spew their yawps, record the insanity and pass it around.

Ford Nation can damn their King with their very support.

That's a great idea. Put the camera on them and show for what they are. That being said, however, a very small proportion of the populace pays as much attention to the issues as we do here and on twitter. The figure I heard today was ~1% of voters are actively engaged. The rest vote for someone b/c they are "like them" not necessarily bc of their platform. Frightening to think that 20% of torontonians relate to RoFo.
Here's hoping that TPS and/or Donovan come through with a story big enough to derail him from the ballot. Although it would be wonderful to see the look on slumdougmillionaire's face when they lose.

Police release new video in unsolved Vaughan double homicide

Investigators have a new clue that they are hoping could help crack the case of a double murder from almost a year ago in Vaughan.

Saturday marks the one year since suspected mob hitman Salvatore Calautti and associate James Tusek were gunned down outside the Terrace Banquet Centre on Creditstone Road, near Rutherford Road and Jane Street.

Police said the men were shot while they were sitting in a black BMW vehicle outside the hall in the parking lot.

The security video below captured an image of a white van around the same time the two Toronto men were killed.

Was standing right next to the pair of them, beside Pink Parasol woman. It became clear from the start they were going to rant themselves into a very deep hole so we stood back and let them have at it. Woman on Iola's left was really really pissed but didn't talk as much, but she did say "We are the silent majority." My guess is they knew each other.
 
Rob Ford's woes win student essay title

The competition invites students in Grades 5 to 12 to submit an original essay, 300 words or less, supporting their choice of an important person who had a significant impact on Canadian society last year and explaining whether that impact has been negative or positive.

Raveenthiran wrote about Rob Ford and the negative fallout from the Toronto mayor’s personal struggle with drugs and his handling of the public revelations.

His essay was selected from among hundreds of submissions as the Grand Prize winner in the Grade 9-12 category.

The 17-year-old receives a $3,000 cash prize and $1,000 for his school.

The cash prize will help Raveenthiran, who enters Grade 12 next year, pay university tuition after graduation, he said.
