And that's all it takes for a lot of people -- a sound bite implying that one or all of those kids are violent criminals -- to justify Doug's outrage.

Sigh. I think the idea that he tried to allege that he had access to a minor's criminal record is one of the most idiotic things he's done yet, and the fact that no one has called him out on that pisses me off. It is the most obvious lie so far (and there have been a ton of obvious lies). The police should make a statement to ensure those with criminal records, especially minors, that a city councillor can not access them to prove a point.

Book Description
Publication Date: April 28 2014
A young man lands a job as a speech writer for a crack smoking, drunk driving, ass grabbing, lying Mayor of Toronto. In a satirical comedic novel that has story elements that sound familiar to many, 'Me and the Crack Mayor' imagines the inner world of a political administration that is out of control, yet unapologetic. While inspired by real events, this is a work of fiction that imagines what it would be like to be in the centre of a storm that makes the wrong kind of world wide headlines for Toronto. The novel is the second for author Gary Pearson, his first, the romantic comedy Slapshot of Love is also available through Amazon. Pearson is best known as a comedy writer for such TV shows as MadTV, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, That's So Weird and many others. He has won the Writer's Guild of Canada Award, The Canadian Comedy Award and a Canadian Screen Award. He has been nominated for six Gemini Awards and two further Canadian Screen Awards.

So Doug claimed that the police gave him a minor's rap sheet? A minor that would be protected by the Young Offender's act? It's either bull or the police released information that they're absolutely not allowed to release.

This claim should be brought up at the next council meeting and with the Human Rights Tribunal.

Between Daniel Dale's "This is a book" comment, the contents of said book, and "The Brothers Dim", I have had some good laughs for the day!
