Rob Ford's Toronto

This was information obtained before there were even reports in the media that the Mayor was being investigated. Once Brazen 2 became known, it confirmed a lot of what I was being told and had reported here. What I'm looking for in the redacted portions are the remaining unconfirmed allegations that Ford was captured in a wiretap soliciting drugs from Lisi. These wire taps won't be enough to charge him but it'll be the strongest incriminating evidence in public opinion.

Not all of the redacted portions of the ITO were blacked out to protect innocent parties. Information was held back as to not reveal investigative methods and the ongoing investigation itself. I'm told that Brazen 2 is wrapping up soon and I expect that this judgement will hasten it.

Interesting...but it occurs to me that if the police have him on tape soliciting drugs AND have all the surveillance of the weird drops we've seen, it will be harder for the cops to say, "We couldn't pull him over and find out he had just a bottle of vodka..."

I'm totally down with the idea they didn't want to bust him on a simple possession charge when bigger things were at play but it's a bit harder to justify if they have Ford calling Lisi to give him some coke at the local Esso and then pictures of it taking place the next day. Time will tell if it's anything that direct.

Excellent point. I am clinging to faith that the drugs were small potatoes compared to what TPS had in the works, either against Ford or his wider network. But my faith is being tested, to put it mildly.

no offence but driving around drunk putting peoples lives at risk is way worse than buying some pot or coke

I believe media said last week that Ford isn't in these wiretaps but that his name is mentioned. He gets his drugs from Sandro, Bruno and those guys.

I thought it was in reference to Project Traveller wiretaps that Ford's voice is not captured.

Speaking of Bruno, is there anything significant about the date of the impromptu prison visit? Was anything really big going on around that time?

Catching up on this thread has been almost painful, (especially all the wannabe mods).

Quick points;

Who's delving into the FoBros' "bosses"? I mean, from the sounds of things they have pushed projects through for indiscernible reasons (port lands, garbage, casino, subways). Surely, they aren't screaming about these things out of the badness of their hearts.

Why does DoFo get to speak on RoFo's behalf so much? Did other councillors pipe up up for previous mayors? If not, why doesn't the media tell him to fuck off? Is this a playground or what? Is there no embarrassment for all grown up RoFo having someone fight his battles all the time?

Anyway, thanks to all the solid contributors to this thread. The Media should link to this thread in every story that they publish.

The jail visit was March 25th @ 7 p.m.. The Star published their story the next day about Ford at the Garrison Ball and Anthony Smith was killed two days later.

We all know Rob Ford buys drugs. But we don't know the frequency or quantity of his buys. To hear him tell it, he's used crack once, and marijuana in the distant past. Hard to take seriously, yes, but nobody has proof.

But if the police have Ford or Lisi on wire referring to substantial quantities of coke or crack, or a "weekly pickup" of Oxys, for example, that would change the game. "I'm not an addict" would be refuted. Ford Nation would not be able to dismiss it as a harmless, one-time binge. No apology would get him out of that.

That's the maximum potential of the un-redacted material, in my estimation.

It's such a downer that we have to wait until Dec 6th if not longer. What sticks in my mind are the comments made about the unredacted ITO
being "disgusting" that has piqued my curiosity. What could be worse than what we already know?

What follows is wild speculation, to be sure.

The 'prominent hockey analyst' thing has always been a nagging thing. So, this 'Rogers Total Hockey Thing' happens on Tuesday. CBC are now token players. TSN is cut out. Could the revelations of Fordian debauchery, possibly hanging over someone's head, have been the thing that made Rogers up the $ and seal/force the deal? With a little BG info on the DL thrown in, either as wedge or cover? Crazy, for sure. After all, as ol' Occam might say, $480M per year gets a dick like Bettman hard. Fast. So, yeah, nothing to it. Obviously, CBC can't throw that kind of money around. And, surely, BellMedia doesn't have that kind of dough or the many platforms Rogers can offer.

Oh, wait. They do.

Know zip-squid-all about these negotiations. Or if BGM was involved. But, the G&M was reporting as late as Tuesday a.m., that CBC had it all sewn up. Then, zing! The ground shifts. Rogers offers more than twice the amount the reported frontrunner (CBC) was apparently offering. And hockey, or the watching thereof, will never be the same henceforth. Weird, eh?

Also, anyone heard anything about goings-on at some place called Muzik? It's been told that something unseemly involving an 'embattled' public figure went down there. Possibly for prosperity.

Speculation, of course.

Not that weird, just the wacky world of business. I don't see this connecting in any way with the RoFo story.

If they haven't done so already, the police should look into why Ford made that seemingly urgent visit to the detention centre. It seems significant.

If I may be allowed to speculate hper, the whole hockey thing did seem odd. CBC has historical value with Hockey as well. Odd that it was tossed aside.
If the prominent hockey figure has some embarrassment to bring upon hockey world, perhaps the CBC was "asked" to bow out for the sake of the game.
So, they allow Rogers to up the stakes dramatically. I am sure Bell could have come up with that amount too.

We've since learned that "Bruno" was in the car with Ford and Lisi the night of the Garrison Ball. Perhaps the Star gave Ford a heads up that they were going to print and gave him a chance to comment. Ford would have declined, but then perhaps he decided he needed to speak to Bruno to find out if he'd had any contact and/or spilled anything to the Star.

CBC will still be broadcasting HNIC every saturday under a licensing deal with Rogers. Their well-known analysts will be there analyzing, rain or shine or crack cocaine. Don't get crazy on us, guys...
