Wow.
Hopefully that will be an example for other cities regarding the fesibility of elevated rail
in a downtown/built-up environment or down central median boulevards.

You make it sound like absolutely nothing is being built in in those cities.

Hopefully that will be an example for other cities regarding the fesibility of elevated rail
in a downtown/built-up environment or down central median boulevards.

There must a miscommunication and/or mistake in translation to English. I have a hard to seeing far more residential/suburban streets like Lacordaire and Dickson being underground sections and much more urban René Lévesque being elevated.

Probably because of the width of Rene Levesque Blvd and the median down the middle.

Total (Rapid Transit): 5.5 km (23 km)

Ontario Line - (18 km)
YNSE - (6 km)
Eglinton West - (7 km + 3.5 km)
SSE - (8 km)
ECLRT - 19 km
EELRT - (14 km)
Hurontario LRT - 18 km (4 km)
FWLRT - 11 km

Rapid Transit: 10 km (42.5 km)
LRT: 39 km (18 km)
Total: 49 km (61.5 km) Including suburbs

REM - 67 km (20 km)

Total (Rapid Transit): 67 km (27 km)

Despite having a lower population than Toronto, they've got more rapid transit under construction, and are adding even more. I'd say, given their size, they've definitely got the upper hand.

I do hope they bundle the extension of REM to Dorval into this phase. That is subject to the airport going ahead with the proposed REM station.

Should GO RER be included on this? Also if you're including Hurontario, maybe include BRT like the Rapidways, or Dundas and Durham (unless we're sticking to trains here).

That’s not even factoring in the inevitable Toronto cancelations.
