Mississauga MCC Update - Feb 3/07

Re: City Reaches $1 Billion in Construction 10 Years in a Ro

I wonder what city Daniel's plans to model their next condo development after.

It's too bad their projects sell so well...the names and themes are ridiculous.

Ridiculous, maybe, but those North York Towers roofs are iconic.

I'm still waiting for the gargoyles...

Podium looks really nice:

So where is this one located? Beside the Y?

On a separate note, the site at the corner of Burnhamthorpe and Grand Park was fenced off last year and a for sale sign was erected. It pushed the fact that the site is pre-zoned and approved for high density residential towers.

Podium looks nice and urbab. The tower's OK. I jsut have to complain about the name and marketing (ugh! Chicago?)

Maybe Mississauga should have a tower called the Toronto. Because it's a separate city.

The Amacon/Parkside Village sales-centre is really coming along. After a summer of not much happening, it looks like it could be ready by summer, though that's doubtful (depending on Elle progresses).

Looks like Chicago will be between Living Arts Drive and One Park Tower (right beside the "Saturday in the Park" park perhaps?)

One Park Tower is moving along very fast - the townhouses really change the 'feel' of the site.

Solstice is peaking out from behind the CityGate pool, which means they are up to the sixth floor, I think.

Is there a development map of the Square One area around somewhere? I seem to remember one from like two years ago. There's so many projects it's hard keeping track of what's going where.

Sorry, but while its form is fine, the style is faux-historical kitch. Horrible.

It's hard to tell from the pic, but I like how it breaks down from a tall (albeit faux-historic) tower, to a midrise block and then wraps around the corner ending in some sort of Georgian townhouse. It's almost like a developmental timeline of Manhattan in reverse.

Also the corner of Burnhamthorpe and Kariya across from Sussex Centre, though that was commercial according to the sign that was up. Sold, apparently, though I haven't seen/heard anything about it since.

If this stinker doesn't sell, will Paper Lace's "The Night Chicago Died" be played at the celebration party?

There is already a Chicago condominium in Toronto.

It is located right at Yonge and Finch, on the South East side on Finch.

I guess Mississauga is a different city though, so it will be no surprise when we see the New York Towers, Mississauga.

Maybe they ought to call it "Schaumburg", or "Naperville", or "Downers Grove"...

Yeah, because those places are full of 36 storey condominium towers.
