Then and Now for June 18, 2013.

Then. Edward Street looking W from the E. side of Centre Avenue. I'm guessing 1950-ish.

Some excellent photography of Kensington Market (circa 1950s-60s) by Harry Joy, now 96 years of age - at this site:

Kensington Market really was and still is a great place to find interesting people doing interesting things - even though it's not as much of a market as it used to be (too many coffee shops and restaurants, just my opinion of course..) and less authentic or gritty as these old pictures record. Interesting link, thank you Goldie.

It appears that *somewhere* behind all of that is the old building (more evident in the back alley)

Going to post my own on here, if that's alright:

South of King & Sumach, 1977:

Now: https://www.google.co.uk/maps?q=&la...a=X&ei=ClfEUfXoFZKXqwH63ID4BQ&ved=0CDIQxB0wAA

#33 is gone, but the semis on the right remain, as does the power station to the right of that. We're on Sumach street, south of King, looking east.

Thank you UserNameToronto for the Duncan McLaren link - most fascinating. I hadn't heard of him before. His images are wonderful.
