Are there any mechanical differences at all between the Ion and Metrolinx LRVs?
Not really a big systems difference, but a number of the Metrolinx LRVs will supposedly also be single-ended.

Really? Where will these single-ended LRVs be running? None of the LRT lines have loops to accommodate single-ended LRVs.
Apparently for the Eglinton line, where they would run at least in pairs. I don't think it's for sure yet if this will be the configuration. There was discussion here back in April about it, due to para 21 in the Metrolinx legal proceedings against Bombardier:

But wait.....our trusted transit agency says that pilot vehicle can't run under it's own power...,how can it do high-speed testing?https://twitter.com/Canardiain/status/905800077989601280

That was 6 months ago...if they cant get one running by now they seriously deserved to be fired and the contract ripped upBut wait.....our trusted transit agency says that pilot vehicle can't run under it's own power...,how can it do high-speed testing?
Aside from the fact I was kidding.....That was 6 months ago...if they cant get one running by now they seriously deserved to be fired and the contract ripped up
Then again they should've had one running since last year
Didn't we already discuss this already? The LRVs would be linked up with 2 or 3 single end LRVs thus the lack of need of two cabs on one LRV. There is two prototype with 1 being dual cab and the other being single cab.Really? Where will these single-ended LRVs be running? None of the LRT lines have loops to accommodate single-ended LRVs.
It's a lot more viable then people here care to give it credit forIs Bombardier even a viable enterprise now, https://www.thestar.com/business/20...9-duty-on-the-sale-of-jets-to-us-airline.html
While a trade war with Boeing and a bulked up Siemens/Alstom partnership creates new headwinds for Bombardier, the company has not indicated any further delays in its delivery schedule for low-floor Toronto Transit Commission streetcars as a result, said Stuart Green, a TTC spokesperson.
