No no, no and NO! for further emphasis.

That's a charming building, leave it alone!

Only listed not designated!

This site is surrounded by parking; but development may be severely constrained by separation distances, and by shadowing on Victoria Memorial Square park to the east.

Which brings me to the idea that perhaps the parking should be purchased as an expansion of same.

Along with, maybe, the small condo at 20 Niagara (apologies to the residents some of whom were probably pioneers in gentrifying this area).

But it seems like a two-fold win to me by expanding an over-subscribed park, and then protecting and showcasing this lovely building in the process.

Note the parking on the right, and park to your left in this image:

Doesn't that T-shaped parking lot already have a separate proposal?

Just some updates on what has been happening on Richmond west of Bathurst and Niagara Street. This area, Niagara?, is quickly turning into a mini Yorkville.

Starbucks is going in on the northeast corner of King and John. View attachment 472314View attachment 472315

From one place that doesn't know how to make a good cup of coffee, because they are scared of having flavour in their offerings; to another place that can't make a good cup of coffee because they confuse 'roasting' with burning.

I gather there was a fire at 522 King W at some point (CIBO Wine Bar space)

That resulted in:

Which I gather has now in turn produced:

Others will report on what the plan is here.
