Goldie's Toronto

great pic and great site!

here's another view from 2008:

That red life ring has always amused me. I've always imagined it was to rescue any Mercs or Audis that happen to fall into the river from the dealerships upstream.

^ and is it related to that concrete structure in Morningside Park???

Who's behind this concrete conspiracy? The government? Illuminati? Aliens?
Was Toronto built on the site of some ancient concrete civilization?
This is freakin me out man!

Beautiful Image

Isn't this a great photo?

Unfortunately, it's Grand Central (c.1935-41), not Union.

Oh, yeah, that's the part where the aliens' heat rays turn everyone into piles of clothes. :)

Wow, Goldie, are those your own shots? I misread the caption at first; I thought it said "circa 1930". They look like something way out of the past. Thought they were something you might have found in the CoTA.

Looks like a better-kept field in Sparta. :)

A huge site for the Pan Am games is being prepared on U.of T. (Scarborough) property - N/E of Morningside & Military Trail.
It will house two Olympic-size pools and more.

Shooting in the Don Valley Brick Works, 1993.
It was more exciting and adventuresome before the eventual sanitization and promotion as a public garden.

This is one of my favourite threads, makes me wish I had 1. a good dslr camera, 2. a car to travel to these places (or a less expensive means of transportation than GO trains)
