So Metrolinx can spare the expense of full-length canopies and inviting station entrances outside of Toronto, but within the city they only want to pop in a few shelters or partial length canopies along with the cheapest station entrance possible.

This is the list that intrigues me as it includes GO Expansion stations, and will be looking to see if these stations get their canopies VE'd out as they get closer to construction. I dont believe Exhibition or East Harbour will have their canopies VE'd out (even though East Harbour has been significantly cheapened), but i'm skeptical on Caledonia, King-Liberty, St.Clair, Park Lawn and to an extent Finch-Kennedy. The rest of the stations in this list are outside the scope of GO Expansion but yes it's fair to say that full canopies have been included in their rebuilds.
The stupid T logo will be used because Metolionx paid a wayfinding expert to tell them that they need a symbol so that people will recognize all public transit. It's stupid to because it's only been used on a few Metoloinx projects and they have made lame excuses as to why it wasn't on others where it should have been. Also all the other transit agencies have said a big fat no to using it outside of anything that Metolonx is paying for, because they also don't see and for it.
Of all places Milton adopted the T logo!
It's still dumb and thankful Metrolink isn't forcing anyone else to use. It's stupid and dumb because it's entirely pointless and a complete waste of money. Nobody outside of Metrolinx and a few people in here actually know anything about the t symbol and what it means ot what it's supposed to mean and that's a major failure on Metrolink for attempting to use it for some reason and convince people that there is a problem and this random extra symbol that nobody knows about solves it.
Interesting. They chose the “T” symbology, but didn’t adopt the coloring/setup that Metrolinx advocated for? Why? Doesn’t that negate some of the advantages that the common wayfinding standard was supposed to deliver?
That’s because it’s only been used on a very tiny part of the GO network with no real explanation, it was supposed to be a symbol that represented the entire GTHA, if everyone adopted it the general public would soon know what it means
because it's not going to happen because the major transit agencies all said nope we aren't going to waste money to change all the stops and stations to add something that isn't needed at all. Metrolinx had a wayfinding expert who created a problem that didn't exist and then created a solution that we don't need. Even if every transit agency wasted their money to use it the public still wouldn't know what it means because by the time that happens Metklinx will have hied another wayfinding expert who will tell them somethig completely different.
