Interesting interview with Phil Verster
The very interesting bits are
9:20 - Verster indicates that changes to the design at East Harbour will mean a flyunder at Scarboro Jct isn't needed. Intuitively that implies that Stouffville trains will end up on the north tracks from Don up to Scarboro Jct. I wonder what options that creates/eliminates for VIA HFR, and how express LSE will integrate with stopping trains on that route.
Text below:
@HaydenPoon is correct. The reference concept includes minimum service level requirements - how the winning proponent chooses to do that (which grade seps to build, trains, signaling, etc.) is up to them. The contract is designed to spur market innovation in this way. 1/2 ^pp
Follow up tweet:
Metrolinx has completed the necessary TPAPs for all potential grade seps, so needed approvals are in place for financial close, expected in the first half of this year. Once the proponent is on board, we can confirm with certainty which grade separations will go forward. 2/2 ^pp
Sorry - did not realize @Allandale25 had already posted.
