Looks good except for the elevator shaft which would look fine in a more modern setting but next to the historic station building looks very out of place. Making this building glass would have gone a long way to make the building fit in more with its surroundings.

I stop by Erindale Station yesterday and learn a few things as well seeing some things.

The original station is history. The new station is only open during am service hours.

There is a large area at the south end for something.

All parking spots have either a red, green or blue light over it to indicate if the space is open or close. All reserve spots have red lights all the time even if no one is parking there on level 1. They will also indelicate on the outside board if there are X spots open on X level. There are also a tracking system at each level entrance/exit.

There is less than 500 spot empty and are expected to be gone next year.

The temporarily parking lot will be completely rebuilt as a permanent one with new grading and lighting. Metrolinx own the land.

The ramp off Burnhamthrope is only an exit ramp.

The bus stops are in service again except the eastbound as it now on the west side of the stop lights.

There is no date when the elevators will be in service.

There is no parking on the roof which surprised me as there is no ramp to it. The roof holds solar power panes that supposed to supply about 75% of the power requirement for the station.

The south shelter has no protection in it and both of the shelters still not hookup.

The lack of signage lead to 2 GO buses doing some fancy 3 point turn in the Kiss & Ride lot as the exit lane is too sharp for them. Mississauga Transit Artic didn't fair as well as the GO bus thanks to the supervisors. I went down to help the driver to backup to get out of the lot, but the supervisor arrived as I got there. He got the bus to jump the curb only to get the rear wheel stuck in the new grass. Service truck was call and after putting various on site material under the wheel, he took a run at the bus to give it extra traction to move. Because the buswas in the exit lane, 2 inbound lanes had to be left open so people could get out. Photos are up on site for this.

Get some nice view from the 7th level and shows how flat Mississauga is until the core.

There close to 200 photos of the station, bus bays and parking area as well the walkway up on site.

GO enforcers were on site and even doing traffic control.

A few cars used the bus loop and no surprised there.

I once accidentally drove into the bus loop at lincolnville, as their either wasn't any signs saying I couldn't or I didn't see them. As soon as I realized where I was I was embarrassed, and made a beeline for the exit.. Luckily lincolnville is a very quiet station and there wasn't even a single bus In the loop.

I have seen cars at one point or another in most bus loops outside of TTC. Saw 2 yesterday at Sq One Terminal, 1 at Burlington today.

They finally getting the brick up on the new Burlington Station as well steel for part of the roof. Wood Truss beams on site to be install the main area.

I still say they made a big mistake not having the platform beside the new building as it would reduced the number of people using the stairs as well the accessibility ramp that is being built in place of elevators. Be along the lines of the Milton Station as well Lisgar or RHC

Pickering bridge as of 4 minutes ago

Lots of workers working on top of the bridge and most of the cladding is sitting on the side of the bridge. Looks like they are finally going to finish the damn thing.

Thanks for the updates, you two, as I rarely get out to Durham these days. I wonder why it's taken them so long to finish this project... They started construction around two and a half years ago, which blows my mind.

I noticed a tender out for Metrolinx/GO for "Lakeshore East Rail Corridor Expansions" includes EAs and Engineering etc.

As the Bomanville related expansion is already post-EA; I'm assuming this covers something else. Either the long expected third track through Guildwood area; or the 4th track from Union to Stouffville Junction.

But perhaps one of our 'GO' insiders or other knowledgeable folks could enlighten us on exactly what this tender is contemplating. (many thanks in advance for so doing)

Not construction related, but there was a tender or RFQ or such about carsharing at GO stations a few months back; haven't seen anything on that since; anyone hear anything?

could be an EA for electrification, like they are doing with the DRL. I think you may be right with the third /fourth tracks though. If it is the guildwood 3rd track that means that we may finally be getting some more grade seperations along there.

I'm fairly certain that this is for the extension to Oshawa/Bowmanville. Any references to EAs may be regarding changes that may be necessary to the previous EA.

GO was ready to launch the EA on the triple-tracking from Guildwood to Pickering 3 or 4 years ago, but it's been put on the back burner due to funding. A 4th track to Scarborough isn't projected to be needed for quite some time.

You are correct, this is for the third track between Guildwood and Durham Junction.

You are correct, this is for the third track between Guildwood and Durham Junction.

Is adding the 3rd track a response to an immediate need for more track to accommodate more trains during peak, or is this a long-term infrastructure thing (laying the groundwork for electrification, etc)? I guess what I'm asking is is this a retroactive response to an already at-capacity situation (relieving a bottleneck), or is this proactive to allow for expanded service further down the line?
