Damn shame the perpetual testing and commissioning is all for dog and pony political likes. If it were a private enterprise they would be pushing to open as soon a possible and deal with the minor deficiencies later as they come... but if course Verster wants everything picture perfect before even annoyluncing an opening date'Look at how good we've done, look at all that we've accomplished'

Don't shame them for by their own metrics completing 0.01% of the project in 10 months'Look at how good we've done, look at all that we've accomplished'

It is still not 100% completed today.Don't shame them for by their own metrics completing 0.01% of the project in 10 months
From what I noticed, they are not maintaining the bike lanes this winter so probably they "closed" them so there's no liability. I would assume they still have to hand them off to the city eventually who will have to maintain them, that's my guess anyways.I noticed that the bike lane on the north side of Finch is consistently marked as not in service, with lots of blocking pylons... but the lane itself appears finished and has appropriate lane markings. So why would it not be placed in service even if the transit line is still to come?

I see not much has change from my Dec 10 visit to the corridor as well doing a video shoot of it. I found signs in the bike lane in various place where you need to dismount to cross intersection which was weird. As for work at the 400, been on going for months with eastbound traffic been affected and was effecting the westbound also. On Dec 10, it was only the eastbound being affected that took me a few minutes to go that one block compared to the 20 minutes in Nov.I had an errand on Finch today. Saw two construction crews working, one (at the 400) handling conduit and those large white bags of sand or whatever, and the second (further west) tinkering with the innards of a Presto reader. The rails were consistently heavily rusted, meaning nothing has run on that line for quite a while.

I'm sure that those in the know have a still-to-do list, but this line sure reeks of just not getting to the finish line.
