Finch West Line 6 LRT

Was it finch or Eglinton that had the QR codes that were recently hung up (to inform about bus changes) that didn't work?

I want to go see in person and submit a complaint and see how many weeks (months) it takes

Dec 10
Ended up looking at Finch today and traffic was wide open going westbound. Still a lot of barriers around things and work taking place off to the side of the road. Bike lanes look done with stripping, but a few intersections have pillions' and sign closing it as well bike signals cover up.

2LRV's out training someone and waited 30 minutes for one to show up in the west considering there was one in the west and east as I drove west to shoot a video of it, but gave up.

Eastbound was still slow going at the CP bridge, but a lot faster with shorter line up.

Noticed the station sign at the ramp area are now different with the east side having a poor TTC sign at the top, but doesn't match the west side where I was hoping to get some shots. Looks poor in the daylight, but maybe it will look better at night if it is an LED one.

Took me 22 minutes to go from Keele Portal to Hwy 27

Real fast

'Look at how good we've done, look at all that we've accomplished'

Damn shame the perpetual testing and commissioning is all for dog and pony political likes. If it were a private enterprise they would be pushing to open as soon a possible and deal with the minor deficiencies later as they come... but if course Verster wants everything picture perfect before even annoyluncing an opening date

Verster is out.
Some people are assuming Ford wants to open this right before/during an election period.
Honestly, I don't think the opening of this line will have much of an impact on the election - but seems like that's the consensus in this group...

Came to vent a bit, driving along finch someone parked on the bike lane and while going by there wasn't quite enough room so I clipped his mirror, both mirrors broken. He made a big fuss over it but at the end of the day it was probably both our faults. luckily my mirror is only $34. I wonder if they can put flexible bollards to help prevent people from parking in the bike lanes.

I had an errand on Finch today. Saw two construction crews working, one (at the 400) handling conduit and those large white bags of sand or whatever, and the second (further west) tinkering with the innards of a Presto reader. The rails were consistently heavily rusted, meaning nothing has run on that line for quite a while.

I noticed that the bike lane on the north side of Finch is consistently marked as not in service, with lots of blocking pylons... but the lane itself appears finished and has appropriate lane markings. So why would it not be placed in service even if the transit line is still to come?

I'm sure that those in the know have a still-to-do list, but this line sure reeks of just not getting to the finish line.

From what I noticed, they are not maintaining the bike lanes this winter so probably they "closed" them so there's no liability. I would assume they still have to hand them off to the city eventually who will have to maintain them, that's my guess anyways.

I see not much has change from my Dec 10 visit to the corridor as well doing a video shoot of it. I found signs in the bike lane in various place where you need to dismount to cross intersection which was weird. As for work at the 400, been on going for months with eastbound traffic been affected and was effecting the westbound also. On Dec 10, it was only the eastbound being affected that took me a few minutes to go that one block compared to the 20 minutes in Nov.

Tracks were very rusty on that day even with 2 LRV's out on the line sitting at stations. It been stated elsewhere TTC trainers are been train to be follow by 3 class of driver training which raise the questions does TTC have the manpower to fulfill not only Finch, but also Eglinton since they are out of the same division??

Still sitting at the west end station until I lost it out of the rear view.

Red both ends at an eastbound stop

It was also the first time I caught shots of the LRV's on Finch
