Brampton: Mt. Pleasant Mobility Hub

The West Toronto and Dufferin Jog projects are mucking things up badly (see my post in the GO Transit thread) but Mount Pleasant will have more trains in April than now, including the mid-afternoon and early evening trains from Brampton/Bramalea going all the way to Georgetown.

I was expecting the extension of the current Bramalea trains, but except the shoulder-peak runs, those trains are being cut back for now.

Brampton is still treating the area as a "Mobility Hub" and what's interesting is that the area immediately north of the tracks and station is starting to look a lot like Cornell. The big difference: the old CP Station that has been reconstructed as part of a community centre and school in the centre of the development. That, and unlike Cornell, transit is right there to start with. The problem: everything else around Mount Pleasant GO is plain old suburbia, with some townhouses increasing the sub-par density just a bit.

Nearby is the old hamlet of Mount Pleasant, which was bypassed by Highway 7 in the 1960s and left hidden.

Even if the West Toronto work is moving along surely the Humber Bridge work will be GO's next reason to put off ramping up Georgetown?
