Black Lives Matter Toronto

But we're different!!

I honestly don't know what is more disturbing in this thread:

1. That BlackLivesMatterJeff exists.
2. That BlackLivesMatterCanada exists and the media just acts as cheerleaders for them even after Yusra Khogali tweeted to God to give her the strength to not kill the white people she sees.
3. That SJW PinkLucy pulled her social media outrage card out at Armour's bizarre and irrelevant comment about how slutty Miley Cyrus is as opposed to BlackLivesMatterJeff's "ban all white people" comments.
4. How many self-loathers there are here.
5. How BLM protests in the US are described as "mostly peaceful".

If theses are mainstream opinions, no wonder Western civilization is on decline soon to be replaced by a) Russia b) China c) India d) other ...

What I find truly disturbing about this thread is that someone who had hardly posted anything would come specifically to this thread and tell us how disturbing the viewpoints posted in this thread are when practically no one in the forum post in it seriously anymore. Sorry, the racewar will have to wait another day.

Sorry Mr. Moderator but I only come to this site occasionally. I just don't have the time and commitment to get up to 20,000 posts so you'll have to forgive me for my modest 55. ;)

Um, what? Is a what? Classes system? Is that a question?
Wait..... I think I get it.

Perhaps you're suggesting; "So you believe in a classless system of order?"

No.

No, it is not what I stated, the opposite actually, but you answered the question I asked anyway and confirming my thought.

Picking on AOD will get you nowhere.

Anyway, it's not the Western civilization that is declining, it the dying of nationalism promoted by authoritarian oligarchies.

I'm not a regular on this forum so it's no biggie if I get banned for disagreeing with the moderator. I'm not picking on him at all. Au contraire he seems to be picking on me by implying that I'm some troll trying to start a riot when he very well has access to information that proves otherwise.

It is Western civilization that is in decline. America and Europe are all in decline unfortunately. Just look at the amount of division there is: liberals and conservatives can neither agree on something as complex as immigration and economic policy nor something as simple as to where to put up no parking signs. America's economy will soon (probably some time in the 2020s) get overtaken by the Chinese juggernaut. Even though the living standards are still considerably lower in China and India than in USA, anybody who has extensively visited those regions can't help but be impressed by the surging optimism coming from those areas.

If one analyzes the decline of ancient civilizations such as Greece, Rome and Carthage, one begins to see stark similarities between what happened to them and what is happening to us. Socialist historian Will Durant in his book, the Life of Greece (the Story of Civilization Part 2), claims that everything that is happening in our era has already happened in Ancient Greece: banking scandals, the reluctance of people to have less children, the transition of participating in sport to being spectators, decadence, changing attitudes in how women are valued etc etc etc. I would post a quote from him but since it would most likely cause social media outrage, I'll refrain from it. I'm not saying these things are bad or good; I'm just saying that's what happened.

You probably disagree with me and this is a very interesting topic to debate but I think it would be best if I parted ways with this forum since the moderator made his point clear and I have no intention of getting into a wrestling match with him.

It's a shame you are you are wimping out, we here at this grand hotel love discourse. I had answers for all your points but alas people look funny at me when I talk to myself.

The logical outcome of exaggerated inequality and social relativism- where crime is excused due due to identity and goals are ultimately vague and constantly shifting ("we disagree with you therefore there is systematic anti-something in your group").

Funny how this compares to the Civil Rights movement, which carefully vetted its champions (like Rosa Parks vs Claudette Colin) to make sure that they were flawless and would not turn off the general population.

Black Liberation Collective protests UTSU
Group demands union drop its lawsuit against Sandra Hudson

Members of the Black Liberation Collective (BLC) are calling for a boycott of University of Toronto Students’ Union (UTSU).

The group occupied the union’s office at Hart House Circle with microphones and speakers and called on the union to drop its ongoing lawsuit with former Executive Director Sandy Hudson, increase funding for black student groups, and hold a town hall for black UTSU members to address what they call systemic anti-black racism within the union.

The interior and exterior of the UTSU office were also plastered with posters that list the BLC’s demands. Some of the posters call out former President Ben Coleman, former Vice-President, University Affairs Pierre Harfouche, current President Jasmine Denike, and current Vice-President, Internal & Services Mathias Memmel by name.

“BEN, WE SEE YOU,” one poster reads. Others read, “UTSU your antiblackness is SHOWING,” “UTSU IS ANTIBLACK PERIOD,” and “#IMWITHSANDY.”

The UTSU is currently in the midst of a lawsuit with Hudson and accuses her of improperly arranging severance payments for herself totalling $247,726.40, or approximately 10 per cent of the union’s budget. The union also alleges that Hudson deliberately destroyed confidential documents and improperly logged 1,974.5 overtime hours that were recorded in a single entry.

Current UTSU Executive Director Tka Pinnock declined to comment. The Black Liberation Collective could not immediately be reached.

This story is developing, more to come.

I've long argued systemic racism, to varying degrees, exists. And we must attack it as we see it. But certain individuals have done harm to Black Lives by talking a careerist approach. Sandy Hudson is an activist who tweets about "Pigs" (Toronto Police) and cultivates a professionally aggrieved persona. I assume she intends to earn her living this way since she's trying to burn every bridge she sees. This is her latest Tweet. Ironic, I don't think so, but a personality shows through.

"3.5 hour commute
Thank you Toronto
Thank you York University
Thank you Canada.
#winterisananologyforwhitesupremeacy#gotyorked"

Aggrieved Sandy makes it harder to advance a valid cause by lifting out the US BLM movement and simply transplanting it into Toronto. Canadians always want to identify with bad-ass America in good and bad ways...

I wont comment on the US movement, I'm talking about Canada and I will use rough numbers to make my point. Toronto's homicide rate is 50-100 each year. Since 1990 there have been 50 police shootings of Toronto citizens, or 2 per year (more recently). Much less than half of police shootings were of Black people. So we're down to less than 1 Black person shot by police in Toronto per year. In the cases I'm aware of, the individual was usually resisting arrest, brandishing a weapon, or shooting at police. I seem to recall the last incident involved a young Black male being on the run for double homicide.

Yes, there is racism. But i don't buy the idea Blacks live in mortal fear of Toronto Police - unless they are listening to Sandra.

Has anyone gotten an update on how the lawsuit progressed against Sandra Hudson? She's accused of orchestrating her own termination from Uof T Student Union so that she could receive $300,000 wrongful dismissal payment out of the student fund. Her term was about to end anyway.

And another thing, Sandy is one of those students harassing a very courageous professor who refuses to commit to memory and to use increasingly numerous Gender Pronouns.
