Apple Store

I think 1 BW would be more in line with the design aesthetics of Apple,. particularly given Foster is pretty much the go to architect for their new retail projects nowadays.

The location of the new Apple store was a more interesting discussion 4 years ago when Apple was cool. Today, they still make some of the best phones and computers on the market, but that mystique is gone.
Your assessment regarding the mystique is subjective, but what's quantifiable is the continued success of Apple stores, with easily the highest per square foot sales of any chain, and constantly packed stores. They have no flagship location in Toronto, and they need at least one store here with breakout rooms for the seminars and lessons you can book to learn the software.
For the time being, those seminars are held on tables in amongst all the hubbub, to the point where GarageBand lessons are only offered in a couple stores in the very early morning before the noise level goes up. That software really requires you to be able to hear what's going on… so it's time that Apple had better facilities here, and ascending a glass staircase to quieter rooms for such events might just bring the mystique back.

It would also be interesting when they finally release the Apple Car.

The upcoming updated Apple TV could also be something big.

The refresh is coming next week - though it's still a set-top box. Not sure if we will ever see an actual Apple-branded TV set (is there even a point for that, considering it's a low-margin business?)

I don't see Apple releasing an actual television anytime soon. The upgrade cycle is way too long. However, lots of rumors for the update that look quite interesting.

Apple just announced a launch of a new concept store this fall. New oak tables, more high quality materials like granite, more greenery in stores, and an improved layout. Fifth Avenue is also shutting temporarily next month to become a global flagship store that will act as a model for all new concepts moving forward.

Was just reading in the Eaton Centre Thread how it looks like Apple might not be opening a new location in the expansion... What about the Future Shop space at 10 Dundas- could that be worked into something suitable for them?

I can't imagine that - no amount of storefront renovation will make that pile marketable to Apple. I'd see them leasing some of the heritage structure on Yonge near the Eaton Centre instead.
