..so they should airlift it here? Let's do it!

I agree that there should be something to make Yonge & Bloor a destination. It's quite anticlimatic.

Okay, I've told this one before. First, 2 Bloor West gets hit by a plane. Then, 15 minutes later, another plane hits 2 Bloor East...

Very distasteful, knowing Toronto was on the hit list for a terror attack.

These supposed terror attacks that would have taken place in toronto/ontario are definitely blown out of proportion. Nonetheless, Lets not hijack (no pun intended) this thread.

I think 1BE should be well planned out before being marketed. No point in rushung such a prime location. Although two 600fters (w/ 4 seasons) would look real nice in that area.

Blown out of proportion? They tried to obtain three tonnes of ammonium nitrate. The Oklahoma City truck bomb only used one tonne. Three tonnes might have been enough to bring down one or more towers, with a potentially huge death toll.

As for 1 BE, I am still hopeful that it will be built -- mainly because I think that Bloore/Yonge could use a 300m supertall, and a few more 200m class buildings there would increase the location's attractiveness for developers.

"Three tonnes might have been enough to bring down one or more towers"

Sheridan Centre? Ryerson Business Building?

*Sheraton* Centre. For a second there, you had me thinking of Erin Mills Pkway N of the QEW...

Chicago, of course. It's half condo and half office. If I remember correctly from the tour, it was the first skyscraper to combine residential and commercial.

Comments on this thread have indicated that Kolter, the developer of 1 Bloor East, might not be proceeding quickly because they have been distracted by their interests in Florida.

The blog mentioned in this link has an item indicating that at least one of their Florida projects might not be going exactly as planned. Maybe they'll turn their attention back to TO.
