Interesting how it's cheaper than 100 Yorkville. I'd much rather live there.

Just saw it on CTV .. they are lining up and it's not opening for 1 week .. wow.

More impotently I saw the model from inside the sales center .. it's pretty impressive - actually better then most of the renders we have seen. If someone could get a picture that would be great.

If there were lineups for single family homes in Mississauga this summer, I don't see why people wouldn't be lining up for Canada's tallest residential building.

Its not something new.

Weren't there realtors camped out a couple days beforehand for the opening sales of Chicago in Mississauga?

I really don't find it that hard to believe they're lined up this early for this tower.

yes they were....I don't think this is any marketing hoax...

edit: I know a realtor or two who wouldn't be averse to paying someone to stand in line on their behalf...

It's not necessarily a hoax, just because people are lined up. It's not the purchasers standing in line, it's students hired by real estate agents. Lineups in advance of openings are becoming, perhaps not the norm, but not unusual. Theere was a major lineup at "Beyond the Sea" in Etobicoke two or three months ago, at "Burano" when it opened for sales, and at "Chicago" in Mississauga, which has sold amazingly quickly.

I've said it before, but I continue to be surprised by the amount of negativity around this project. I'd be interested in seeing any real evidence, as opposed to idle speculation.

As stated above the type of client that's purchasing here at the moment (pre public sales A list types) aren't the sort of people who would camp out on street corners. That said it's possible it was just a hoax, it's also possible realtor's or purchaser/investors paid people to camp out for them. Though I have a tough time believing Bazis would handle the big time investors like this when they can pretty much just hold more black tie events and let the richies battle it out for units with their cheque books. One more note, who were these people? I was told in the sales office on Saturday that sales won't begin to the general public until later this month.

For clarification (although it has already been stated), the people who are lined up are either real estate agents or students hired by real estate agents to hold places in line.

(I too am not a fan of the fact there there has been 3 or more pages of speculation and theory (and very bad humour) about this building.)

No I totally agree. I'm just curious why with the sort of purchaser that have first pick right now would need to go through this in the pre-public launch phaze. I do think it's a marketing ploy, not saying those people in line aren't place holders for real purchasers. I'm only suggesting Bazis has gone this route forcing the VIP list to line up to attract attention.

Anyway the fact that this building is in sales already is great news, and I'm hoping that if Blu and 1 Bloor turn out great that we can expect more buildings from this developer.

Isn't Bazis scheduled to unveil the Emerald Park development at Yonge and Sheppard in the next few weeks?

I also agree that those people in the lineup are almost certainly students paid by the real estate agents to hold their places for them.
