General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

@Northern Light light is what we need in this darkness. If I understand you correctly it can be put In essence, the author is expressing a kind of detached familiarity with whatever is being discussed, grounded in their past experiences. They're neither overly excited nor overly concerned...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

@Admiral Beez you are missing the point. It is not about who to vote. I went to those community meetings at Bloor West to get a sense of the situation. The vaste majority is in favor of the new street design. It is how specific people get played by two or three politicians who steer up emotions...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

However, the last section to Queens Quay is still not done. So sad! Who’s opposing it?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

@robmausser - you are going into the totally wrong direction with this. No cycle track is here too wide. Most are too narrow to accommodate cycling traffic at rush hour. For example College St. Funny to discuss the width of bike lanes as that would save or even change anything. We have a...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

@Northern Light you like to say hope is not entirely lost? This draft law is basically so badly written to pressure the city to get some kind of deal and is not intended to become law?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Interesting article on that subject of our “brilliant government” not less embarrassing as US politics: https://www.tvo.org/article/opinion-the-ford-government-doesnt-care-whether-its-bike-lane-proposal-makes-any-sense

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

A populistic talk in a men’s club is something, but an official news release something else. Nothing else this government has to focus on?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

In todays news release from the Ontario government no mention of “bike lanes”: https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1005191/ontario-building-highways-faster-to-get-drivers-moving What do I and we miss?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Is this now the end of our cycling infrastructure, because the so called Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria from Brampton became rough? Examples from his opinion piece the Star was even willing to print: - “our winters make cycling impractical for most of the year” - “Cyclists should go...

    The Meadoway, 200ha

There still so many gaps in the trail going from the Don to the zoo. Their webpage doesn’t show the construction timeline and updates anymore. We outdated. Maybe I missed the right page. Has someone more information why barely any is built? Like just one trail segment this year. Sad!

Toronto Bathurst Quay Revitalization | ?m | 2s | City of Toronto | Kearns Mancini

Visited the patio today. Might be one of my favourite spots. One thought so. As it is an Irish Heritage Centre I am missing the Guiness beer bar. At least something to eat a drink should be there. Otherwise why would people go there?

    East Don Trail Project

Embarrassing slow progress. When is this tunnel finally constructed?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

University Avenue seems to have the best cycling tracks. But there is always this one driver. I made sure to get him out of the cycle lane!

I talked to the work crew. Made clear I want the pavers back. They promised it will be done. Voila, all true. As a million dollar investor in the Well this is the least that can be expected. True story!
