Despite what Ford says The Streetcar in Toronto is here to stay.

People complain about congestion, then they complain about the vehicle reducing the congestion, then they complain about the cost or inconvience of further reducing that congestion by getting those vehicles out of their way. There's no winning here. Until drivers accept that they are cause of...

    FIXING Transit City

I don't think anyone's claiming China's perfect, but you have to acknowledge the effectiveness of a more authoritarian governemnt. They don't bend to NIMBYs, or set priorities based on political ridings, or think in 4 year blocks. They decide what they want to do, and they do it...for better...

    Transit City Plan

It has already been explained several times why SELRT was first out of the gate. You may want to see your GP and get yourself checked out for the afformentioned CRID.

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

I saw it. It was amazing. They had 60 inch plasma displays, they were handing out free cocktails...they even let me drive for a few stops! Then Liz Hurley (from 1997) blew me, I was pronounced King of Toronto, and I rocketed into the sky with my solid gold jetpack.

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

At the end of the day I really like saying Spadina (spuh-dye-na...it's a fun word), so I couldn't care less if it's slightly illogical. They could call the DRL the Rancho Cucamonga Line for all I care, as long as they build the damn thing.

    Referendum on Transit City needed

Why don't we? Because that would be retarded. We operate a representative democracy for a reason. The average citizen is not well enough informed to making these types of desicions, and will generally vote solely based on his/her own best interest (rather than in the interest of the greater...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I pictured the exact same thing...but I added foam-domes, giant #1 Fingers and lawn chairs. Not sure why (in my brain) they aren't just using the chairs provided. Something about downtown elitist seating or something probably.

Despite what Ford says The Streetcar in Toronto is here to stay.

I'm not terribly surprised that Toronto doesn't get mentioned more, but I am surprised we're not taking better advantage of this streetcar revival. TTC has to be the continent's leading streetcar experts, with more operating, installing, and maintenance experience than anyone else in North...

Subway Extension to STC or Sheppard East LRT?

abstained. question is way too misleading. The real choice is more like: 1. BD Subway extension to STC. 2. SE-LRT and SRT LRT upgrade and extension to Sheppard

    TTC Subway Track Replacement

So...marginal benefits, low priority, very expensive...have we come to a satisfying conclusion yet?

    Transit City Plan

Don't worry...Ford is famous for his following of reasonable courses of action, isn't he?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

1 day as mayor, and the city's already out $100M in revenue. And is turning away provincial and federal money. And is increasing the bargaining strength of the TTC union. And is returning calls and answering emails via 'leadership'. To paraphrase Daniel Tosh: "that's why you don't tell a...

    Transit City Plan

To Ford? Yes, that's the hugest gravy boat the world has ever seen! That's 12500 retirement parties!

    Transit City Plan

I never said anything about alignment...it's hardly relevant. Or that the subway isn't justifiable...that's certainly arguable. But it's not critical, and it costs money. AKA gravy!

    Transit City Plan

Why would Ford or Stintz push for ECLRT and SLRT changes? I can see the at-grade portions gettings chopped, but upgrading the grade-separated lines to subway?...pure gravy! This administration's primary cause is supposed to be efficient spending.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I believe it's an explanation as to how Ottawa's BRT capacity figures can be so much higher than those estimated for Hurontario, hence the quoted reply. It's not really an argument for or against anything.

    Prostitution

Moreso than they already do? The fact is that prostitution does exist. It always has, and always will. Certain men will always be willing to pay, and certain women will always be willing to accept that payment. No law will ever change this. Making it illegal just makes it more dangerous...
