    Toronto Tyndale Green | 80.29m | 24s | Collecdev-Markee | KPMB

    I'm referring to this area.

    Toronto Mirvish Village (Honest Ed's Redevelopment) | 85.04m | 26s | Westbank | Henriquez Partners

Woah those are pretty creative interiors! Aside from the cheap spotlights...

What in the actual hell is wrong with these people? I thought this would be a beautiful stone wall in an elegant moat. No... we definitely need advertisements to welcome people into our downtown. It's so depressing that Toronto doesn't know how to create a great civic space.

Can't the city just sign an agreement with the developer that allows public access? Like in POPS (Privately-Owned Publicly Accessible Spaces). Maintenance and provision of security is an issue, but clearly public access can be allowed in privately-owned spaces. Thanks, I didn't know that...

    Toronto Q Tower | 197.4m | 59s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

It isn't in-force for the Central Waterfront Secondary Plan area, meaning this development, because of the minister's modifications. :( I would just like to remind everyone that Doug Ford's government ripped up the Downtown Plan, which imo had great policies, and made much of its ambitions a...

The Don Valley is basically a collection of large parks, all in a ravine. The fact that private developments can't do the same (without destroying nature, of course) is weird. I would allow natural parks to be built, unless it significantly harmful to wildlife or a certain natural state. I can...

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

I know the city is responsible for planning the expansion of the PATH, but I don't know whether this is the fault of the developer for not complying with the PATH master plan or of City Hall for not including an expansion to this site in their plans.

I don't understand why we get so excited about shiny grey/blue cubes stacked on top of each other, but even more disappointing to me is the podium. It's so lazy and I don't understand how these starchitects can design world-renowned landmarks but seem unable or unwilling to make a decent podium...

I'm just tryna figure out what the interiors will look like, and it's much more consequential than a condo lobby.

Did you not notice the difference in the materiality? 😂 So are those changes confirmed? It would be kind of sad to me, as I prefer the version we usually see on UT. I think the gold-coloured ceiling looks better but aside from that, it's worse. The bridges don't have lighting and the black...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Yes, lack of controversy is good but the actual project really is boring. The stations and streetscape designs are just so bland and typical... nothing special. The LRT entrance at Finch West Station doesn't even give a nod to the Line 1 station design.

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

Is it really that hard to design a podium?

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Many interesting comments here. I would say that even though there are good examples of high-rise districts, like Vancouver's Yaletown or the West End, this place could also be like Vancouver's Olympic Village... with vibrant street life, natural landscaping, and great public places...

Just found two very similar renderings for the retail area... the first one is from BDP Quadrangle's website. Does anyone know which one is currently getting built?

Interesting how that works. For me, the back gives off a prison vibe. For you, it's beautiful and interesting. Respect.

    Toronto 180 Queens Quay East | 75.5m | 22s | Rom-Grand Waterfront Ltd | a—A

In the video recordings on WT's Youtube, you can see a draft list of upcoming items for the next meeting. On December's meeting, they anticipated that all those projects would return to the panel in January but they're not included in the agenda that was released today. Spot on. Other people...

Thank you! I'm not a big fan of these 70s-looking balconies and the triangle-shaped pillars must be pretty disorienting at the level of the human eye. At the same time, the shape of the street-facing facade is kinda weird and there's nothing breaking up the facade. The windows are also kinda...

    Toronto 180 Queens Quay East | 75.5m | 22s | Rom-Grand Waterfront Ltd | a—A

This was supposed to return to the DRP tomorrow, on January 26, 2022, but the agenda only shows the PIC Core Urban Design Guidelines. Also missing on the agenda is 200 Queens Quay West, Bentway Bridge Re-design, and the Legacy Art Project. I am very angry with this design and it just goes to...

It also depends on the appeal of the Central Waterfront Secondary Plan, along with the Port Lands OPM policies. They have a lot in there regarding design, so we'll see if the tribunal approves them. Follow here: https://olt.gov.on.ca/tribunals/lpat/e-status/ and enter case number PL030514...

Why do we need new parks in the first place if there's an entire protected conservation area? Add some natural trails and you've got an interesting park. Public spaces were already included, so that checks the need for urban places. Not every development needs a park... sometimes a conservation...
