    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

If I was gonna guess, the OL ending at Eglinton is probably because MX, while doing the studies on Relief Line North had at least figured out that the alignment needed to go to Don Mills and Eglinton. Which tbh, was pretty obvious. But we also know from those studies they had 2 options under...

    Toronto The Ivy | 110.33m | 34s | Tricon | Graziani + Corazza

Watching them rebuild the heritage building that used to house the entrance to Toronto's only gay club, knowing it's just gonna become like a weed store or a nail salon (or something else equally generic), is so depressing. We're just slowly becoming a giant vertical suburb with no nightlife or...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Another element is that, in order to avoid underpinning, Osgoode and Queen are being tunneled through bedrock, in order to prevent any shifting of the soil between the new tunnel and the existing station (you can really see this in the way Queen Station puts all the vertical access areas either...

    Toronto The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

Tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if a majority of Americans think it snows most of the year everywhere in Canada. Their education system... does not exactly care about anything beyond their borders. You'd hope the internet has improved things (but i doubt it), but there is a reason Rick Mercer's...

    Ottawa Transit Developments

Honestly it was so dumb that they decided to cut corners at Blair and St Laurent when every other station was, maybe aside from the trench, brand new. It's not like they repurposed Lees or Tremblay, those got full replacements.

    Toronto PATH Retail

Interestingly they have moved above ground further West. Assuming the Simcoe Place one didn't re-open (it was closed last I was there a couple months ago but I haven't been past recently), it's been effectively replaced by one at street level on Wellington near Simcoe (in the RBC tower), and the...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Is there just something about Union Station that makes it some sort of weird signage/wayfaring purgatory? Because like, I swear to god, the moment anything related to signage touches this building it becomes completely insane.

    Toronto Eaton Centre

Personally, M&S is probably the number one store I'd like to see (re)enter the Canadian market. Even if it was just M&S Simply Food. Fond memories of going to Kingston as a kid to go to the M&S there (my parents are both from the UK so it was like a bit of home for them).

    Toronto Eaton Centre

The 4th one is next to Best Buy, just inside the mall entrance on Dundas, behind the escalators down to the long hallway with CT/Marks at the end. Easy to forget though since it's pretty removed from the rest of the mall.

Toronto St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

As someone who loves the architecture in London, having something like this in Toronto makes me so happy. Hopefully whatever we get for the library that replaces the temporary south market looks this good too.

Toronto Cherry House at Canary Landing | 50.32m | 13s | Dream | COBE Architects

Comparing the two buildings, you can really see the difference having the brick go all the way to the ground makes. While the metal panels aren't the worst, brick would have looked so much better.

Toronto Rees Park Playground and Pavillion | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

It's a lot easier to run a zero-emissions electric LRT through a structure than a highway full of air-polluting cars, as you don't need to include the same level of ventilation systems (and we're way too far away from EV mass adoption for the fumes from cars to be ignored).

    Yonge-Dundas Square/Sankofa Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

I mean there are consistently street preachers saying gay people are going to hell outside the Eaton Centre, where else does that happen in Toronto? That was my point there, although maybe I could have been clearer about that. To be fair, I probably should have made it clear that the attempted...

    Yonge-Dundas Square/Sankofa Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

Yep, exactly. It doesn't feel like a safe environment when you have people screaming about how you're going to hell.

    Yonge-Dundas Square/Sankofa Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

Given YDS is probably the single most openly homophobic place in the city, bringing a name from an anti-LGBT country seems oddly fitting I suppose 🙃 Also, you kinda undermine your point on homophobia with "Ford Square", given the history of the Ford's and the gay community, but I digress. At...

    Yonge-Dundas Square/Sankofa Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

Honestly, I don't care what the name of the square is, rename it, keep it the same, who honestly cares. All I personally care about is that two years ago, my at-the-the-time boyfriend had to pull me out of the way of a homeless man trying to hit me in the head with a blunt object out of nowhere...

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

Renaming the TTC stations makes sense IMO, the rest of the renaming project... idk, we have so many other things that are desperately underfunded rn. Dundas West/Bloor GO should have a single unified name after they're connected anyway, (I'd personally go with Roncesvalles, even if the street...

Downtown Grocery Store List (current + proposed)

Yep the whole thing is a lot more complicated than something that fits in a catchy headline. That said, Loblaws kinda brought a lot of their current bad press upon themselves by having their billionaire owner talk about food affordability, something that obviously does not impact him personally...

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

My guess is it's yet another weed store.
