Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Getting off topic, but yeah, there are problems on a few streetcar routes (especially 505, 506, and 501) and the subway (people getting in at stations like Wellesley and Rosedale). I’m not seeing the actively antisocial behaviour that was more common a few years ago, at least.

Fare enforcement will definitely be an issue between Laird and Kennedy.

I wonder if there will be a grace period for tapping on to a surface stop right before your 2-hour transfer ends.
How long would you be allowed to wait for the train on the platform and ride the train before it's considered invalid?

I'm on them, not all the time, but not infrequently either, and have never seen this rolling homeless shelter phenomenon. Where exactly are you seeing this?
I have with someone laying at the rear, bench area or a window seat with there head resting on the window a sleep with bags near them. Then some don't have bags at all. You will find them doing the same thing on the subway.

It is a hit and miss depending on the time of day as well part of the line they are found.

Considering how 20-30 min delays sometimes happens on the subway, they better not be taking advantage of people while everyone is having a crappy commute.

I have never seen an official document explaining the process for marshalling buses for an unplanned TTC subway event, but my observation is that lots of buses do turn up pretty promptly… presumably pulled from regular routes….not necessarily enough to handle the volume of riders, but certainly evidence that TTC has a standard process and knows how to execute.
I am confident they will be able to do the same for crosstown…. Although the number of vehicles available within say 5kms of the line may be different compared to the area around Lines 1 and 2 in the center of the city.
What could get tricky is if there were ever simultaneous events on multiple lines.

That would explain why I've never seen anything, I most frequently ride the 504, 509, and 510, which are all pretty civilized routes, as far as it goes. The worst thing I've ever seen on one was the rear section of one car smelled like piss.

My impression is that the problem has lessened - enforcement has picked up. It was certainly very prominent on 501 in the past, but lately things have improved, and the cars are less pungent and less often.

As I pass the Mount Denise Station on the 32 heading to Yonge, an eastbound LRV departed the station. As it climb over Black Creek, the pans were reduced to haft the normal height as it got ready to entre the tunnel. Saw nothing for most stations, but Caledonia fencing has been removed for the walkway area with a number of vehicles at the station. Vehicles at Eglinton West station.

Nice to see the Yonge sidewalk complete. All the elevators were running from TTC platform to the LRT station as well the main entrance for Crosstown. Crew trying to clean the tiles on their knees and using special cleaning material for the entrance from the Main Crosstown entrance. Major inspection taking place with a lot of white hats.
