Roads: Six Points Interchange Reconfiguration (City of Toronto, UC)

Looking at Jasonzed photo, surprised that the concrete is not pour for the southbound lanes on Kipling as it was ready/almost ready when I tour the site a few weeks ago.

Guild was placing cables where the new Dundas meets Bloor for traffic lights.

More concrete was pour for the eastbound lanes for Dundas to the west,

One can say this has become a make work area as it should be much further on being built than this.

Haft of the new Dundas between Bloor and Dundas is pour and missing both ends. Forming taking place for the west sidewalk.

Still missing a large section of the eastbound lanes to the east of the new connects.

Some traffic lights have been installed at the mid section connecting roads.

Trees waiting to be planted on the new Dundas Rd.

Most of the southbound Kipling Lanes are pour as well part of the off ramp.

They were grading the last section of the west bound lanes a few days ago.

Where the new road stop short of the current Dundas, it needs the curb and lanes to be built up to the exit/entrance to the condos.

See very few works on site these days.

Lot more photos up on site.

Here are a few more pictures of Dunbloor from today. From the looks of thinks it appears that there is going to be an island right in front of Summerland Terrace. This would mean you can't make a left turn onto Dunbloor coming out of the Building, Who the hell thought that was a good idea?

Yes it will take some extra time for drivers in these building to go west, but they have 2 option to so. If you allow driver to make left turns in/out of the area, it would screw up more time for the drivers using the new road than those in the buildings.

Based on the time table as noted in the link, its behind schedule.

The police station will have to be relocated if the new road is to connect to Bloor St at the traffic lights, as it currently dead centre where the new future road is to go.

Based on what I have seen first hand and walking the area, eastbound traffic will use the new Dundas Rd while the westbound becomes one lane from Dunbloor Rd to west of Aukland to allow the new westbound Dundas lanes to be built as one option. The 2nd option would see single lanes in both direction using the eastbound lanes. Option 2 will allow the removable of the current bridges and building the new Bloor road to connect with Kipling.

It state that stage 1B is to see 72 hour closure and not aware if this has happen or still plan. That will cause one major detour and mess.

The eastbound bike lane is about 60% completed.

Give a warm hand to Guild Electric and Toronto Hydro and their sub contractors for doing a nice job screwing up another project close to 6 months late. Concrete pours have been stop after a number of areas had to be cut out to allow these firms to do their work and then replaced the cut out concrete. No more concrete will be pour where work still has to take place and only after it is 100% complete.

The paving company had 2 crew paving all the pour concrete for the new Dundas between Bloor and Kipling and Kipling to Dundas on Sunday. Temporary paving has been place up to the entrance of the condo buildings from where the concrete stop for the new road. Even part of the westbound lane saw this as well. A small section of the curb has to be built west of the entrance as well the sidewalk.

Kipling should return to normal 4 lanes this week now the paving is done and waiting markings. Even some of it temporary. Viking Lane should be able to open this week as well for southbound Kipling traffic, since its 100% completed, other than markings.

With the full connection to Dundas, its possible a lane could be open for southbound Kipling traffic this week or year as well.

Not much has happen at either end of Dunbloor to connect to Dundas and Bloor, but the curbs to Bloor are been layout for concrete to be pour. No setup for temporary construction traffic light or foundation for them yet. Still missing concrete road on Bloor up to the new connection as well the new Dundas section.

It very possible that we will see temporary paving place shortly to connect all new roads to existing ones to allow Bloor St overpass to be close by year end, with traffic using the new Dundas Rd.
