The point would be to relieve pressure off MiWay and the dundas street busses. I think if Richmond Hill can get one and Scarborough get two, we can connect Square One to Bloor Yonge. Will never happen nor should it. as there is no demand for one up to Dixie Rd. To Cloverdale, yes that should happen, but can it be done in 5 years??
The "they got one we deserve one" attitude is the road to ruin.....financial ruin if not general ruin! The point would be to relieve pressure off MiWay and the dundas street busses. I think if Richmond Hill can get one and Scarborough get two, we can connect Square One to Bloor Yonge.

Not only is there no obvious need for a subway to Mississauga.....there isn't even a loud shout for one....or even a quiet shout.

It was never supposed to open for Pan Am. It was always scheduled to open after the Games had ended.

If you want a subway to Sq One, how do you operate 2 cars trains on a 6 car line every 15 minutes at the best???
Why is ML wanting to build an BRT on Dundas compare to an LRT to Hurontario or a Subway???
Metrolinx hosted a meeting today to share, among other things, the latest information on upcoming improvements to the Mimico GO station. Below is a summary of what we learned about Mimico GO station. Metrolinx will be hosting a public meeting on July 5th at Mimico Presbyterian Church to share this and more. Stay tuned for details.
Highlights of the improvements include:
- a new station building.
- Two new east and west tunnels, with elevator and stair access to platform level.
- Accessible north and south entrance buildings with a new passenger pick-up and drop-off area on Manchester street.
- Rehab of existing platforms, including heated shelters.
- Revisions to existing parking lot, including bike lanes, pedestrian walkways and bike shelters.
We were happy to hear that Metrolinx has considered in their plans the connection to the Greenway (multi-use trail adjacent to north side of tracks) as well as the Royal York overpass that is part of the Mimico Judson Secondary Plan. One area of concern is that the new South Entrance is pending property agreement with Toronto Community Housing. If an agreement cannot be reached there will be no south entrance.
Construction is anticipated to start in 2020 and finish by 2023.
Whats the status of Barrie Line Double Tracking and the Davenport Diamond
