You mean the green boxes just outside the paid-area? Thats my primary mode of topping up and I've never had issues tapping my debit card (magnetic strip facing the machine).

To clarify, when I realized I had to go back to where I started I was just pulling into Union. So I just stayed in my seat and rode it all the way back. I didn't get off mid-route and take a different 509 going the other direction. I was on the same streetcar (#4403) back and forth, and back again.

So, it looks like they'll have two presto readers as there appears to be one by the front doors as well. People won't be required to wade through a sea of people just for a transfer. Simply board at the front as per usual.
