    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

There are buildings like that going up all over the city. If that's all it takes to justify a subway then Sheppard is way down on the priority list.

Yeah but the pricetag for new subway constructon + reconfiguring YUS would be way more massive than the pricetag for just subway construction. The existing subway isn't perfect but it works. Why spend our limited resources trying to fix what isn't broken?

Underground streetcars, actually. And at the time they didn't think of it as being for "several decades" in the future. There were already plans for a streetcar subway from Keele to Broadview before the viaduct was even built.

Because if you didn't connect at Greenwood you have to build a wye at Pape, and that would be much more expensive and disruptive.

Steve has talked about the Weston corridor many times. His stance is that a converted UPX would be the most logical place to put the western leg of the Downtown Relief Line. This doesn't mean literally converting the line to subway technology (that is definitely impossible) but rather...

Steve Munro got an explanation from them a couple of months ago.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

No, but they've left space for a future station in the design. Wouldn't really make sense to spend money roughing in a station when the subway line hasn't even been planned yet.

    Bathurst Streetcar to Eglinton?

No room for a bus loop at Eglinton, let alone a streetcar loop.

http://www.thestar.com/news/queenspark/2013/11/07/liberals_to_force_provincial_government_to_have_longterm_infrastructure_plans.html John Michael McGrath is saying on twitter that the province is going to move ahead with extending the Eglinton LRT to Pearson...

A Relief Line fantasy map Colours and lines are based on the new wayfinding standards. Orange 5 for Eglinton, Silver 6 for Sheppard East, Mint Green 7 for Finch. The SRT's Blue 3 will probably be freed up by the time any Relief Line goes into service, so it can be reassigned to the repurposed...

http://www.ttc.ca/About_the_TTC/Commission_reports_and_information/Commission_meetings/2013/October_23/Reports/New_Wayfinding_Standards_Presentation.pdf I really like a lot of the stuff in here. That Frequency-based Ride Guide looks especially good.

I made a slightly better version of the schematic map I made a couple of weeks ago. One version for if the council votes for the subway and Blue #3 gets freed up for Eglinton: And in the unlikely event that the LRT somehow survives tomorrow's meeting, here's a map where Eglinton gets...

Oh, I absolutely agree. I'm just saying we need to be realistic when we talk about what's motivating people.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

You are imagining an alternate history here. Ford has never so much as said the word transfer. All he cares about is being able to say he built a subway. When he was campaigning his transit plan had no Eglinton line and the SRT converted to subway (NOT an extension of Bloor-Danforth but a new...
