Using numbers instead of letters makes sense if:

  1. We expect to have less than 10 rapid transit lines.
  2. We expect to have more than 26 rapid transit lines.

Otherwise the suggestion from W.K. Lis makes sense.

Personally I really dig these numbered circles. I like it better than using letters. And I don't think it would look good with TTC font, although it would help if someone could mock it up (I can't unfortunately).

As opposed to using numbers with letters in them ? ;)

Time for a review of the TTC website, http://www.ttc.ca/

It was revised during the tenure of Adam Giambrone as Chair of the TTC, from December 1, 2006 to December 1, 2010. He was succeeded by Karen Stintz. The revision was a good improvement of the original. However, it can be better.

For example, I find missing from each station description page (IE. The King Station at http://www.ttc.ca/Subway/Stations/King/station.jsp) a local map.

Compare it with the Symphony Station on Boston's website at http://mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/subway/lines/stations/?stopId=15640&lat=42.342919&lng=-71.084529. At least it has a small map of the vicinity:

I'm sure there can be other improvements, as well.

That's actually...not bad. I'm just wondering if the TTC font has equivalent numbers and why they aren't being used over Helvetica (?)

Is it me or is it that the Toyota Corolla ads still show up in slides 18 and 19 of the TTC customer service slideshow? I wonder how much money did Toyota paid to revamp wayfinding in the TTC.

By the way, the new colours have been unveiled: 5 as orange (Eglinton-Crosstown), 6 as grey (Sheppard East LRT), and 7 as light green (Finch West LRT).

It can be blue if the RT is combined into Line 2. Also the DRL can adopt the #3 since it would be one of the major lines and perhaps be red.
