sorry,i didn't mean traffic overall. i meant the traffic in regards to high price tag shoppers that would frequent each mall. I'm sure that the shoppers at Sherway would have much looser purse strings than the shoppers at Square One.
yeah, that's true, but the traffic will pale in comparison to the Sherway location. But who knows, maybe sherway preferred Holt's to leave as they know that Holts won't be able to compete with Nordstrom in the same mall (I know which one i'll choose just because of their service). Or they...
so it looks like Holts will be moving to Sq one?. What will take over this space in this part of the expansion?. Oxford is wiping Cadillac completely off the map. They took Whole Foods a few years back and now stealing Holts away as well.
Not sure if Holt's will survive at Sq One as...
Pretty gutsy move if true. What's next, a Holt's at Oshawa Centre?. Pretty ridiculous. Could be the downfall of Holt's if they're not careful. Branding is the key to sucess.... i don't think the elites want to fight traffic and rub shoulders with Walmart and Target shopppers just to get to...
Nordstrom will indeed take over the sporting life section of the mall but it will also be an expanded 2 story building on the south end.

I'm hoping they come up with an led wall like the new store in salt lake...
so sporting life is moving to the new wing and Nordstrom will take over sporting life area. They need to update the other side of the mall though otherwise it will look really weird if one side will be modern and sleek while the other side will still have the 70 and 80`s look.
Seriously...
i was looking at the Tides model in particular a few weeks ago and the size of the kitchen/living room looked much smaller than what was depicted in the drawings (epecially the distance from the countertop to the wall)
south etobicoke area could be a bubble. There was a huge influx of investors snapping up places at Beyond the Sea, California and South Beach.
There's over 90 units available at Beyond the Sea and there is another tower that is finishing up. Over 40 units in the iLoft complex with the...
drove by this one today and it's gone up fast. Sorry no cam with me so didn't take any pics.
The towns behind the plaza are almost done. Just wondering if maintenance fees are calculated the same as the tower condos?. If so then you're looking at $600-800 bucks a month in fees since...
You wanna speed up your work?. This one is moving pretty slow. *Joking*.
A few bits of info on stuff happening at Sherway.
1) All commercial units on the bottom of Tower 3 & 4. (Unknown tenants but could be a small grocery/market)
2) Sherway expansion is underway on the NW side of the mall...
They announced last month that the roof will be replace by BirdAir. It will remain the same but material and quality will be better:
Quote:
Birdair will serve as roofing sub-contractor for the shopping center, replacing the current 37,350 square-foot tensile roof located in the south side...
Some more info here, looks like it's just a new 2 storey wing on the NW side and a 3 level garage as well. New wing is ~35k sq meters so that's about 381,000 sq ft. (For comparison sake, Bayview Village is about 440,000 sq ft in size, so it seems like a pretty huge addition then. Not sure if...
yes, i'm a little confused as well. It sounds like they're building a full 2nd story addition on top of the existing mall that's been discussed for years before. Then they're also putting in a multi level parking structure on the NW side.
Subway extension won't happen in our lifetime :D...
my guess would be notable US chains that are making their first appearance in Canada:
Trader Joe's supermarket
Cheesecake Factory
PF Changs
Ralph Lauren Polo
California Pizza Kitchen
Olive Garden
