The month of October, 2023 gave Toronto its last taste of summer before giving us the cooler breezes and colourful leaves of autumn. While the Blue Jays bowed out of the playoffs and passed the city's sports baton to the Raptors and Leafs, UrbanToronto spent the month celebrating 20 years. It was a month of both looking to the past and to the future, with feature articles and images showcasing the intertwined histories of our website and the city. Toronto never stops moving, so there were plenty of articles on construction projects and upcoming developments as well. Here is the latest roundup of the hottest news stories, Database files, and Forum threads on UrbanToronto from the month of October, 2023.

As we make our way up the list, we find four more stories reflecting on Toronto's past and looking to its future, including the TTC and its skyline. Perhaps most notably, given The One's dominance on these lists, is the news about it entering receivership. Although this has raised questions about the supertall skyscraper's status, construction is continuing and UrbanToronto will continue to cover it.
