One of the prominent developments contributing to Mississauga's rapid growth is Daniels Erin Mills, which boasts three towers completed in 2020. The Daniels Corporation is continuing to grow this master-planned community with the Kith and Kindred Condominiums, three more towers, also designed by Kirkor Architects Planners, that set to stand kitty-corner across and Eglinton Avenue West and Erin Mills Parkway to the northeast. Just to the west lies the Erin Mills Town Centre, anchoring the area as its thriving community hub. This locale's position near Highway 403 is further enhanced by Mississauga's MiWay transit system, ensuring connectivity throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
The project, has been progressing steadily over the past three years. The three towers, set to rise to 11, 15, and 25 storeys, are now making their mark above grade.
An aerial view from the northeast in April, 2021 marks the commencement of construction. A yellow excavator is positioned near Erin Mills Parkway, with tire tracks evident on the brown soil leading to Eglinton Avenue West. Nearby, two trucks are stationed for this initial phase of construction, crucial for laying the groundwork for the impending towers.
By May 2022, a northeast perspective showcases the depth of the excavation, with work on all three buildings advancing. The deeper northwest section to the left shows more concrete work completed.
Come another year in May, 2023, the 15-storey-to-be Kith tower, has reached its second storey, with wooden formwork interspersed between concrete sections and protruding rebar. Two concrete pump arms work in tandem in the image below; one delivering liquid concrete from the ground level to another pump on the the structure, which then delivers it to the latest forms needing a fill-up.
Catching up with present day, October's vantage point looks southeast from the lawns in front of Erin Mills Town Centre, with two of the buildings now rising 7 and 8 storeys into the sky, the third building hidden behind them.
Upon completion, the Kith and Kindred Condominiums will introduce an additional 951 residential units, further enhancing the Daniels Erin Mills community in Mississauga.
